RE: Seagull Spacewalker II 120 Arf
Any problems with it veering off at sharp angles on take off ? . I see there is no right-hand thrust built into the firewall. A grass field would probably iliminate that problem but an asphalt runway may cause some surprises. MM

Hi morm.
No i havent had that prob so far, installed engine as per instructions. I Fly off grass anyway, on take off i just feed in a bit off right rudder to keep her straight, on vertical climb under full throttle she flys straight up no veer to left or right so i would say its ok. Haveing said that no 2 air frames are built exactly the same i may have struck lucky. If i had had any probs with it veering left then i would have put 2 degs of right hand thrust in.
Dave.

Hi Guy's
Just got my Seagull Spacewalker II and what a beautiful ARF.... Anyone know if that fuel tank stopper is good for gas setup? I'm installing a Zenoah G26 in it and I'm not sure about the fuel tank?

I just finished putting mine together. Hope to maiden it next week. One of the benefits of living in California I guess. I was able to stuff a Zenoah G-26 up front. You have to cut out the cowl for the carb and the muffler. I was hoping a Bison muffler would fit under the cowl but no luck. I used the stock muffler. One good thing is the black muffler takes the place of the plastic fake motor they provide. So if you want to use the G-26, if does fit but it takes some effort.
I think this is a very good model. They did a nice job on this one.

Hi RCGARY ! I have been following this thread for a while now and am interested in installing my G 26 in the Spacewalker as you did. Can you help me with a few pictures of the plane or the motor installation ?? Have you flown it yet? How about balance?
Thanks, Don

No problem. I'll send some pics today. I have not flown it yet. Hopefully I will have a chance soon and I can let you know how it goes. As far as the CG, it is going to take a lot of tail weight. I am using a very light spinner and a wood prop to keep the nose weight down, but I think it will take about 10z or so in the tail to get it balanced.

Hi guys, no one wants to talk to me, I would like to know if it is easy to fuelproof the nose area of this 120size, as i found it very hard with the 40 size. Also is there a good strong wing tube, (brace). Will it do gentle aerobatics and what weight would it come out at with a zenoha 20 cc gasser.[] thanks in advance, and a merry christmas to all. best regards Bill. Cloudwalker, it looks like the firewall is already fuel proofed. Also, I think it is fine without a wing tube. The sides of the fuse are reinforced and the tube extends very deep into the wings. As far as balance, I suspect any gas motor will require a bunch of tail weight. Just put the battery as far back as possible, and keep adding weight to the tail until it balances out. CG is 11CM behind the leading edge at the wing tips.
Good luck. Very nice plane!
Merry Christmas.

Heres a couple of picys of my S Hawk.
Its got an sc 120 fs up front, flys a bit quicker than the S Walker. both are great models, you couldnt build a model for the price you can buy these.
If you fly of grass which i do the wheel fairings take a battering, on tarmac their ok.
This is 72in wing span the smaller off the 2.

RE: Seagull Spacewalker II 120 Arf
I maidened my Spacewalker the other day and considering that this is a new product for Seagull, I thought I would share the experience.
I used a Zenoah G26 magnito motor. I posted a few pics of the motor installation earlier on this thread. I did angle the motor just a little bit to the right. Just a few degrees is plenty. I used a few washers on the left side to do this. I did not put in any additional down thrust.
The maiden flight was great. The plane took very little trim. It did take some up elevator trim, but not enough to worry about. Just a few clicks did the trick.
The plane could not be any more gentle, etc. A real "floater". The CG is perfect per the instructions. I did put some more throw in the controls than the instructions called for. This is just a personal flying decision based on experience. The plane took very little expo and presented no issues at all. I had good luck using some rudder along with the ailerons in the turns but I was able to turn with ailerons only as well. I found no bad flying habits whatsoever. The G-26 was a good motor choice. More than enough power.
The plane flys really well. I would agree that this plane does fly like a big trainer. Absolutly no problems on takeoff. Rolls straight, gets up on the main wheels very quickly, and takeoff presented no issues. Landing is even easier! Just cut the power and let it float in. Once on the ground I found that leaving the elevator in the neutral postion until the tail wheel settles down is the best way to go. If you give it any up elevator, it will try to take off again. Those big wings create a lot of lift, so just let it slow down and it is fine.
The plane took about 4 oz. of tail weight which was not much considering the motor I used. I set the battery back as far as possible as well.
Hope this helps. I am very happy with this plane and the motor choice. I think Seagull did a fantastic job. Well, enjoy and Happy Landings!

Laguna Niguel, [sigh] [], Palm trees, year round flying weather, etc,. I'd like to test fly mine but even with a clear sky it's 7 below zero for now in northern Utah. I've installed a Saito 1.25 for now and it balanced with the battery all the way forward. You guys are correct, this is a very fine airplane. [ never had a problem with Seagull ARF's ] I might try snow-skies if it warms up to about 35-40 degrees though. Seeya, MM

Nice going RC Gary...I am ready for my maiden flight here in Mich but I'll have to wait until spring. Glad to hear the Zenoah G26 worked out. I also used a couple washers for right thrust on my G26, so I'm all set.
