"DC 100" - new project.
I have decided to de-commission my first micro light build, despite being shuch a nice flier, but at 132g dry, I rather use internal gear set up in my new improved project hoping to bring it down closer to 100 grams to have even more fun with it during magical twilight dead calm evenings as the Spring time is nearing.
Just started on the main wing cut outs.
Nice flier, but I can do better with its internal gear.
Hoping to make ot 20 grams lighter this time.
Replacement project on its way.

Ready to stack it together after getting more of 'Kwik grip" spray, just run out on bloody Sunday! LOL. Flying instead and finishing off few bits and pieces.
All parts cut out ready for assembly.

The new, larger frame is so flimsy while trying to minimize the weight, it will take some carbon to make it solid enough for outdoor flying. The good thing is that the frame flying surface at 37dm2 is 12dm larger than my replacement size so the wing load will be only 3.6 grams compared to 5.5g. even at same AUW, but still hoping to beat it! (time will tell)
This time I have fitted very fine CF rods along leading edge at less than one gram added weight, LOL.
Still waiting for more contact spray to finish off the fuse and some bits & pieces before full assembly.
Variety of fine CF to beef it up.
Stiffing up the LE to start with.

After de-commissioning my first micro build I have fully strip it down, power system re-installed in my new delicate creation and crabon bits will come handy in the future.
There goes my loving labor, now in the trash bin, LOL.
My first learning curve now fully stripped down.

Much heavier than expected as fully complete, same old story, just can't do it any lighter with the gear available or on hand and to make it reliable for outdoor operation. Lets see what it will do in action?

Another success after its maiden flight in light breeze, #3 in my log book out of 10 rating ( 5km/h.) Too light to fly it in anything higher, dead calm is an ideal. The larger diameter modified prop seem to run much better than my earlier 8x4. I like it, I will have lot of fun with it in the comingSpring time.
