Im trying the shipping service from Fastenal to ship an aircraft part across country. Just wondering if anyone has used them and what you think of the service. Might be a way to get large models shipped besides Greyhound.
This is the fasteners company so they open up their trucks to ship along with their own products. Might be good, I'll find out soon enough.

I used them to ship a crate of motorcycle parts and I had no problems. I tried to ship an airplane with them, but they rejected it as too fragile and they were afraid it would get damaged. Price was very competitive on the motorcycle though. Hope this helps.

I just had an airplane shipped from Ohio to Florida using UShip. It was a comp arf ultra lightning and it made the trip without issue. $500 for shipping from the seller to me and that included 5K in insurance. The carrier wrapped it up in blankets and stayed in constant contact with me during the process and it made it in 5 days. I have his contact info if you are interested and I think he may work your area. PM me.

Have always had good luck with ForwardAir.... Reasonably priced too.

I have shipped quite a few planes lately with Uship. They are great.

You can shop around for prices and wait until there’s a good deal. You list the size and weight and then various shippers will send offers.

You cant beat grayhound man. I live in DFW, which is their HQ. I typically get crated models in 3 days or less. One of them had it by next day. Their tracking system does suck though.

Shipped the drop tank today.
74x21x24 and 48lbs
From ID to IL
$100

Their system is kind of clunky to get a shipment going but it works.
I didn’t have to palletize it which was nice however if your shipment is not boxed in metal or wood then the insurance is waived.
