I own two of the 55AX motors and also have never been "happy" with them. I have a couple of 46s that are just perfect motors. I agree that the 46AX would be a bit lighter and a lot more reliable. ...

I have retired my Lazer-Works, Don Mudimann short kit Flying Machine after about a dozen flights. Good plane but just to many projects in the works. It could be had for a good home somewhere.

I don't have time to go back and find the post, but I think Don Muddiman said Eddie at Lazer Works, www.lazer-works.com , would be the source for the short kits. You might try calling Eddie.

I just weighed the YS 45 combo(motor, header, pipe) at over 18oz but under 20oz(the header and pipe are still in their plastic wrap). The OS 55AX comes in at just slightly under 18oz. The 55AX...
