RE: Seagull Spacewalker II 120 Arf

Some flood pics... and to make them slightly relevant I'd love to try flying a spacewalker with floats off this :)

RE: Seagull Spacewalker II 120 Arf

Thanks for that... yeah I'm up on a big hill in Gailes, out Ipswich way. I barely managed to make it home from work today and I won't be going in tomorrow. I just came back from taking a stroll...

RE: Seagull Spacewalker II 120 Arf

Mine runs an OS 160 Gemini twin (really a nice solution because you don't need the cheesey plastic engine heads, as you have real heads either side of the cowl).

I've had to put some lead on...

RE: Seagull Spacewalker II 120 Arf

That shouldn't be a problem.. the landing gear's pretty robust and could easily be reinforced with some fishing trace wire between the gear legs... and even with the 18" prop there's probably about...

RE: Seagull Spacewalker II 120 Arf

I got my 18" props today in the mail. They're Turnigy 18x6 cherry wood props. Thankfully I ordered two, because the hole in one was so off-centre there was no way it would balance without carving...

RE: Seagull Spacewalker II 120 Arf

Should be fine. I've got an ASP 1.20 4stroke (ASP is a clone of Magnum) which I've run in a few planes. It's a pretty strong motor which should fly the spacewalker nicely. It's not going to be a...

RE: Seagull Spacewalker II 120 Arf

For servos I used Spektrum DS821's all round, except for the throttle. Works just fine. As for the engine, I used an OS FT1.60 Gemini on mine. The cowl was tricky to fit till I worked out how - you...

RE: Seagull Spacewalker II 120 Arf

Hey again Greg

Perhaps I should clarify... the 'Walker is no 3D machine like the Extra but it shouldn't be a problem using it for gold wings though. You'll need to work on the rolls as I think...

RE: Seagull Spacewalker II 120 Arf

Heya Greg

I'm just down the road from (globally speaking) out towards Ipswich, and I fly at Tingalpa. If you wanted to see the Spacewalkerin action I'd be happy to meet you at the field so can...

RE: Seagull Spacewalker II 120 Arf

I maidened my Spacewalker a week or so ago, and figured I'd better post a post-maiden report here. I was going to write one up from scratch but since I've been exchanging emails with one of the...

RE: Seagull Spacewalker II 120 Arf

OK then... as promised some pics. In order of appearance...

1. The FT160's a lot easier to mount than regular single cylinder glow engines. The back plate has vertical & horizontal centres...

RE: Seagull Spacewalker II 120 Arf

Yeah... I'm not after an exciting (read nerve wracking) aerobat with this plane... more of a sunday afternoon relaxing flyer. I'll leave the aileron throws standard for now and use high rates if I...

RE: Seagull Spacewalker II 120 Arf

Hey guys... Just bought myself a Spacewalker 120 to be the new home for my OS FT160 (after the last home decided to land upside-down at speed). Using Spektrum DS821 servos for everything except the...
