I have an rc sig kadet 51 and in the plans the plane wants me to use a gas engine but I would like to convert it to an electric plane. If anyone has done this I'd like to no wat size engine and speed control they used. Brushed or brushless and how much power I would need to keep a plane like this flying for at least a half hour and be able to do just about anything I could ask of it. I'm new to planes I'm usually a car and truck guy but I've been able to get a kadet kit for an extremely good price and am in process of building now. I can use all the help I could get for this transformation, thank you all for your time and opinions.

Looking at SIG's website, I don't see a plane called a "rc sig kadet 51". They have several trainers however:

Kadet Senior (big plane, 78" wingspan)
Kadet Seniorita (63" wingspan)
Kadet LT-40 (70" wingspan - SIG calls this the "R/C trainer of choice at many club airfields. Kit or ARF)
Kadet LT-25 (63" wingspan ... smaller version of LT-40)
Kadet Mark II (57.25" wingspan)

If you're just learning to fly the LT-40 gets my vote. I just built the ARF version and test flew it a couple weeks ago. I will put floats on it soon.

There is a kadet 51, it's the same thing basically as the rc-31 just minor differences with the choice of the aeileron. And I'm wondering about electric circuits not how the plane handles I'm sure I'll b able to fly it I jus need to no wat will get it in the air

Hey Derek! I just made a quick check and couldn't believe - SIG actually listened. They once again have the full manual in the website for free download - just go to sigmfg.com and about 2/3 across the gray menu line is the entry "Product Support
Videos, Manuals, Tech Articles" - click that. Red line underneath that has an entry - Sig Instruction Manuals - click that. About 3/4 down is an entry
Discontinued Kits - click that. 24th line down, on the right, is the full manual for RC51, and the set-up instructions.

Oh I see it now. SIG planes all have a "product code". The product code "SIGRC51" is actually the SIG Kadet Mark I which I assume is similar to the SIG Kadet Mark II (57.25" wingspan).

Not long ago I had a SIG LT-40 converted from glow to electric. It's a 70" wingspan and I can't tell how big your Kadet is. Used the following and it flies just fine.
