"EDFHydroPropJet", latest project by JF Jet Studio
Last couple of days came up with another idea to build something different again, with appropriate tittle "EDFHydroPropJet" after having so much of fun these days flying my water planes. After few more design drawings I'll decide which one I fancy most and if I go for Delta/Elevon or conventional control set up. Managed to find all the bits and pieces in my spares box to build it which is a great plus. Pictures tell thousands words.

Further progress well on the way.
Sealing off the hull.
Bit of colour added.
Work on the Elevon laminated tabs.
EDF power in place.
Rear support fins fitted and well reinforced.

After some water trial runs it was too risky for water getting inside nacelle air intakes, being too low! Ripped them out and replaced them 4" higher and 2" forward to get more water clearance.
The first flight after this mod was bit of a handful compare to my original set up, so further experimental trial&error test flights on the way to sort out the instability problem.
Just love the challenge.
Replacement of EDF module to higher position.
Minor mod to get more salt water clearance.
New EDF module position.
Bit of handful the first flight, but only time will tell.

Another test flight after some CG and TAs adjustments, lot more stable but the balance will have to be still moved fore. Lacking bit of power while running both power units only on low 3S voltage but more powerful motor is on its way.
Testing various motors.
Lower kv motor fitted and tested.

A bi-product using left over bits and pieces of this creation. "A-10 flying wing type", not an EDF but great fun fly project after got it finally sorted out. Better in the air than in the trash bin.
Something different.
Left over bits.
After bit of innovations.
In action over the gully.

After bit of break from the EDFHydroPropJet, back again, to finally test fly the new 4S powered Scorpion motor. Certainly livelier with more grunt, but still finding the model bit of a handful during turns after my re-position of the EDF power units 10cm higher to minimize water getting inside nacelle intakes.
Before further water trials I have re-set after my flying today flight controls from the Elevator assisted Elevons to standard two Ailerons with Elevator set up to analyze the difference.
For better or worse, only the time will tell.
Action day.
Now the prop runs on Scorpion 4S.

After radio re-program to standard control set up I have done half a doz. of short level trial flights to test the response, still a handful even flipping the model upside after one landing with considerable damage.
All fixed, further re-set with much better result after few more trial level test flights today.
Ready for the flying field, unfortunately some wet spell is on the way so the garden fertilizing will be more appropriate. LOL.
Now under standard AIL/Elevator control set up.
