Terry, Are the rod ends included in the kit...

Terry,

Are the rod ends included in the kit or did you source them elsewhere? I don't remember seeing them in mine.

Thanks Ken, I'm also now seeing thumbnails. However, when I log in it takes me to my account page, rather than to the page I was just looking at. Also does not stay logged in, as before.

Hi guys, my first comment about the new site...

Hi guys, my first comment about the new site would be that where are the thumbnail pics now?!! We need to see the thumbnails of the pics on the post, and not have to click on each individual photo,...

RE: WACO YMF

I had the same problem. It seems that RCU only allows a maximum number of lines of text in the signature. Delete the space you have left between your name and the line above and it should then show...

RE: WACO YMF

Hi tmac,

You could try a decal softening solution. I think the plastic kit guys use this for compound curves. You can find articles on the web about it.

Some product links:

RE: WACO YMF

Yes, will also work, but a lot of trial and error involved. Whatever works, I say.

RE: WACO YMF

Good idea, except that you need a way to find out what the distance between the screws is first. You could use the string/tape method, followed by the dividers.

RE: WACO YMF

Chuck, why don't you use a piece of string, or other flexible strand, and measure the circumference of the shape. Then divide this measurement into 14. Then place marks at the appropriate spacing...

RE: WACO YMF

Perfect choice, Bob! I have one in my 97" Gee Bee Y, and it runs and sounds great! RPM is a little high for scale sound, but still sounds awesome. I am very happy with the engine.

Hello Chris,
Work with the project lasts about a month. It is a fully independent work. At first I was planning to make a set of lightweight balsa and plywood. But then I decided to...

RE: WACO YMF

The only thing to not is that the type of rib stitching and type of knot can vary between aircraft. Always good to check how it is done on the full size of your chosen prototype.

RE: WACO YMF

It is often necessary to use real rib stitching on WWI aircraft, as they usually have under cambered airfoils, which means that the fabric wants to pull off the rib when it is shrunk tight. Also,...

Looks good Bill. Yes I saw this on another thread on the Ryan. How scale is the Byron kit? Any obvious errors?

RE: WACO YMF

You should not have any overheating problems, especially if you baffle the engine. The cowl has a lot of open area at the front, and not so much at the back, so you need to reduce the frontal area...

RE: WACO YMF

I presume you mean fuel with methanol + oil, but no nitro? You definitely need oil! Yes, I always mix my own fuel anyway, so can make whatever mix I need. I buy methanol in 20L (5.3 gal) drums,...

Hi skypup, I have the 77cc radial and it is a really well made engine. So far seems very good quality, especially for the price. I guess time will tell, though. I am currently fitting it to my 97"...
