RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

There were a couple of comments a few msgs back about the Saito 125 and props.

I've experimented with a number just last week and keep coming back to the APC 16x6. I'm getting 9100 rpm on 15%...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Skillet, I doubt its the fuel. You don't seem to have a problem starting it - bad fuel usually is hard to start.

Almost always, when an engine dies when it is going from mid to full throttle -...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Did you test both engines using the same fuel tank setup. I suspect the plumbing - either air leaks in the main line, the muffler pressure line or the tank is placed too low relative to the carb...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks for the info. I think the little play is then normal. No, there is no movement on the prop driver.
Now as far as the gritty feel - I'm hesistant to say there is none - it does not feel...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I had a great weekend at the field with my 1.25 Saito powered Twist 60 - what a joy to fly with an engine with such an incredible throttle response. When I got home, I primed and lubed the engine...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

My Saito 125 suddenly became a lot more powerful after I had about 2 gallons through it. Its almost like a magical transformation. Its now turning an APC 16x6 at 9200 rpm with the HS needle about 2...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks - good to know that I'm not alone. No leaks when wet - and the power is awesome. Starts also on the first flick - so I won't worry about it.
I'm using CoolPower MV for 4 strokes. I think...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

A couple of months ago - I was concerned that my then new Saito 125 was not developing enough power. It had only a gallon through it then. Now, after one more gallon - I was stunned that I'm getting...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks for the tip - I usually do not trust my own ears when tuning - although I admit I wasn't paying too much attention to change in the amount of smoke and spray while actually tweaking the HS...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Actually the 16-6 is the recommended prop for the Saito 125, for maximum thrust. It should turn it to 8500 rpm range, according to tests by Fly RC magazine and other reviewers - although, Mike...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

After flying electric parkies for this past two years - I've decided to make a glow bird ( to make sure I won't regret my decision I went and got myself a Saito 125a GK[8D] ). The engine was bench...
