I have that same issue, the slot and pin when joined together allow some play in my case maybe 1 centimeter total play ! way too much if you asked me... I think il try your trick.

Blackcat , how did you fit the scale ABS plastic inner door. I see you vacuum bag-it but my inner plastic peice does'nt have the same curve as the actual fiberglass door will it "warp" if I glue them...
