RE: WACO YMF

I'm not buying it. Stability has more to do with the center of gravity in relation to the wing(s), high or low, and dihedral. I don't think the thrust line has anything to do with it. However the...

RE: [Awaiting Approval]

I agree completely with Mitch, butmay Itry to help explain the phenomenon this way? In trying to keep up the perceived speed when you're flying into a strong headwind, you're probably throttling up,...

RE: WACO YMF

Oops, I screwed up on this oneI'm surprised nobody caught me! I gave the formula for the outside surface area of a cylinder, not the volume. The correct formula is pi times radius squared times...

RE: WACO YMF

Fishinchickens,

You need the diameter of the piston, and the length of the stroke of the piston. Both could be measured fairly easy with the cylinder head removed. The displacement= 3.142 * DIA *...

RE: WACO YMF

I think it's a common mistake to use the flat bottom of an airfoil as the datum line. Ithink Dario erred in this regard.

A plane that is set up with zero wing incidence and positive stab incidence...

RE: WACO YMF

Well, she flies! (The Cox/Pica 1/6 ARF). And rather nicely, I might add. I had to tone down the elevator and aileron throws a bit more than the instructions had me set them, but then I don't have...

RE: WACO YMF

But for me, it's...

RE: WACO YMF

Hi Stickbuilder,

How about making it a gross? I've been lurking in this thread as I put my Cox/Pica 1/6 scale together. It's not as elaborate as most of the rest of you brothers are doing, but...
