RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

That looks the same as the muffler that fits my ST G20/15. Sure wish I could buy a couple of those somewhere.

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

The amount of compression also influences the length of the pipe setup, in addition to the fuel, glow plug and propeller. Lowering the compression is customary when running a tuned pipe. Your glow...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Super Tigre engines represent a fantastic value for modellers with the patience to learn how to break them in and adjust them properly.

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

May I suggest a different tactic? How about using a Perry VP-20 or 30 fuel pump? Personally, I prefer the VP-20 if the fuel tank is immediately behind the firewall. No muss, no fuss and not very...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

The 11x8 is my favorite break-in prop for the G90, but a 12 or 13 x 7 or 8 is just fine too. The latter group are fine for flying too. You want to stay away from a 14x6 unless your scale model is...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

After following the manufacturer's instructions for break-in, use the setting technique below to set your model's needles.

Set your needle valves with only an of fuel in the fuel tank. Hold the...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Yes, IIRC, all Super Tigre engines utilize the same needle valve.

There is/was a third party manufacturer selling needle valves for Super Tigre engines. Ernst? I can't remember, but there should...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

You have an excellent idea in using the mousse can pipe type of muffler. You get a generous rpm increase (compared to stock muffler) while reducing the sound output, plus it can be assembled...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Encourage your ST G45 to rev way up. It is an ABC engine, after all.

A 10x6 prop is more in line with producing maximum horsepower. Horsepower and quiet are not compatible in most two-stroke...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Just an addendum to my own previous post, which the messed up editing function in RCU's program appears to have devoured.

I would love to see the Robart fuel pump (in both glow and petrol...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Because (one possibility) some folks can't seem to give up the muffler pressure line, which disables the regulating function in the Perry Pump. Or something like that.

I used to like the Robart...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

This is a different G20, not the Zenoah. This is one by Super Tigre and it's a little .15 sized glow engine. Thanks for the offer of assistance, though.

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

I am an ST G20/15 fan and have collected a few. None came with mufflers. In order to fly with a stock muffler, I have gone so far as to buy G20/23 engines just for their mufflers and then resold the...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

The old Super Tigre carbs were designed different and they were a snap to set. The only time a modeler messed with rotating the spray bar was when trying to smooth out the transition from off the...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

The engine with the dished cylinder head is a "K" series. I had the .40 version. Mine was ringed. It was a great running engine, was very reliable and it idled and transitioned beautifully. Mine had...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

If you notice the picture in your posting, Rainedave, you can see that the muffler is still the flow thru muffler, but with an insert.

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

I had one of the older G21/46 engines that had the rotating baffle plate. I bought it to copy Jim Kirkland's install on the Mustang-X.

While it was a reliable engine, mine never quite matched my...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

I would try running the engine as is at the field. See if someone complains. You might not have to do a thing. Remember, you can't judge how loud your model is if you are running it over your...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

The good part is that there are probably tons of NIB or near NIB large Super Tigres floating around in various places.

I used to groan whenever I saw a relative newbie break out a model with one...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

The first time I answered your question it was for a Zenoah G23. Then I saw that wasn't what you asked for and wrote the second reply, which you have read.

Okay, now for the G20/23 .23 CID glow...

For general sport flying a 16x8 to a 18x8.

I broke-in my G2300 running an 18x8 with the stock muffler, stock glow plug and 5% S&W fuel with 50/50 synth/castor mix. At that time, the...

It depends upon the mood I am in and where the engine has the most convenient amount of "beef".

If the backplate screw hole/boss isn't vented into the crankcase, or easily made to do...

What do you have to trade that is worth about $60? A NIB Fox .45 perhaps? I'll send you a NIB (from Tower directly) ST GS-40, if you are so inclined.

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

ST engines are of an older design. They were designed with different uses in mind than 3D flying.

What this means is that while the carb works fine for ordinary flying of a decade or two ago...
