The best canopy glue I've found is "E6000". ...

The best canopy glue I've found is "E6000". Sticks to anything, dries crystal clear, and you can cut it if you need to remove the item. Basically the same stuff as the old "Shoe Goo" or "PFM".

I'll bet those flat leading edges don't hurt the flying a bit. WW I planes have so much drag that a little more might not make any difference. Lot's of people fly small planes made from flat foam...
