RE: WACO YMF

Yes, people use it. Some people swear by it for a lot of things. I have never used Gorilla Glue because it is very expensive compared to the Elmer's Pro Bond version of the polyurethane glue, but it...

RE: WACO YMF

Since you there are a number of people doing much more than their share of the work to get a beautifully complete set of instructions/plans/templates together for the rest of us to enjoy, I think...

Yes. I don't know about 2, but I'll take one for sure. 2 if that's the way it works out.

Bill, take your time and don't worry about the planes. Take care of those close to home, we will be here...

RE: WACO YMF

Bill,

For what you want to do a pdf is the best choice. Get the copies scanned at 100% and they can be printed at 100% with no issues on most printers. JPEG's will never give you a consistent...

RE: WACO YMF

I've not had a close look at the details of the struts, but aluminum glues very well with epoxy. Just scuff the surface, clean with acetone (be FANATICAL about cleanliness) and it will bond very...

RE: WACO YMF

Thanks for the info, I will make sure the copies are correct before I buy. It is the same supplier that Hughes500e got his from, I guess we could ask him to check his plans for accuracy. Hughes, are...

RE: WACO YMF

Yup, I'm sure. The kits do come up regularly, but they go for what I consider to be an insane amount of money for a semi-decent quality kit. If I have to replace wood and re-work things, I might as...

RE: WACO YMF

Gentlemen,

First, I am still hanging around here, enjoying the show...

I have the option of obtaining plans and templates for the 1/6 or 1/5 scale Pica YMF models. I guess I could get both,...

RE: WACO YMF

Thanks, Jim. I will have a look at some of my engine 3-views and see if that fits anything or not. I have a feeling that any 40cc class engine will have at least a spark plug and lead sticking out at...

RE: WACO YMF

Evan,

I think your numbers are a tad off for this. The 1/5 scale gives a 72" span with around 1500sqin of wing (area according to Stickbuilder). That is bigger than current 2M pattern ships and...

RE: WACO YMF

I don't have any drawings (yet), I am going from the weight mentioned by Stickbuilder. I am not too concerned with aerobatics, this will be a scale project to use for relaxed flying and some scale...

RE: WACO YMF

Hey Stickbuilder and others,

I would be one of the Waco fanatics mentioned previously. I will be following this thread in anticipation of one day finding a kit or plans set (preferably plans) to...
