RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Hi Danny
I would put a big tigre up against a gas engine any time.
My gas engines take longer to start, not harder, just different.

We run a 3250 in our tow plane which runs non stop for...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Hang on to it and use it, its one of the best engines you will ever own.....period.
Run it stock standard using 10% oil (12% run in) and NO NITRO.

I have gas and nitro engines and my big...

Hi Spitfire1999
I am sorry you have had a bad experience with your first chinese made Tigre, and I am sorry if I offended you in any way.

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Sounds like a typical responce from HH, they have no idea about customer service.
I agree with Hobbsy on the move to China but they are still excellent engines.

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

If thats the case then they should be replaced under warranty, again not a common occurrence and again not worthy of condeming the brand. Has anyone bothered to contact Hobby Headquarters about the...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Well from the info you give above I'd say its not the engine its operator error.
Sounds like you have simply overtightened both items and ruined them. The glow plug is no fault of the engine.
It...

Hi
I have been using Dubro filler valves (glow fuel and gas) for a number of years without any issues.
They are very good quality and they have a rebuild kit that replaces everything inside the...

Hi Ponda
No, that screw is the mechanical adjustment (idle stop) for the throttle barrel only required if you use an analogue radio.
Computer radios you just use travel adjust or EPA to adjust...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Don't muck around with it, send it back, sounds like a factory fault, a leaking head is not normal.

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Arhhhh - member of the Mile High Club eh!!!!

I assume the 10/10 is 10%nitro/10%oil only good for 2000 and over, the 90 needs 20%oil.
Try no nitro in the big ones >2000 but you may need it at...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Hi GSnut
I have absolutely no idea why so many people have trouble tuning a ST carby, using the blow thru the tube method gets you so close it will save you spending a long time fiddling.
They...

No excuses here, just cold hard facts.
Sorry you are having such much trouble, but if all your engines are troublesome, then it's not the engines, please dont take this the wrong way.

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

If the engine has been sitting for 15 years, the problem may be that all the seals/o rings may be perished and sucking air, check all the carby o'rings or replace them.
Hope this helps.

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Friz

the 51 has excellent power to weight ratio, I prefer ringed engines. It is my favourite engine........... along with my 29, 45's, 2500's and 3250, Tigres are the best.

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Hi

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Hi
I disagree completely.

I can't believe the number of posts I see that claim ST carbs are bad.
Most of the "BAD" ones are simply not set up correctly, I have not seen a bad one yet!
I...
