Yep, ever since I found that the local ally supplier has heaps of ally tubes of all sorts of sizes, and he cuts them to meter lengths as well. Cost, compared to 'model' stuff is real cheap. Brackets...

I have some concerns with that idea...works fine so long as you land on both wheels at the same time. If you land on one side with more force, that wheel will try to go outwards, and simply drag/jam...

As with most things, the more you know, the less you want to go there. My day job sometimes has me writing repairs for gas turbine parts, you'd be amazed what the bits cost, and how time consuming it...
