RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Aquaskiman,

I had the springair's in my original Falcon which worked flawlessly for 80+ flights. I lost the plane to dumb thumbs. I bought my second Falcon with the Airpower retracts already...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

I had twelve oz's of lead taped to the stab with my Airpower retracts, had an in-flight air leak and had to belly it in on it's maiden flight. Went back to the Springair's and had to remove 6 oz...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Joe,

Great color scheme on the Falcon! I noticed something in the pics. Why aren't your flap and aileron linkages set-up inline with travel? I see u moved them to be closer to the center of...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Well Gentlemen,

I maidened my second Falcon yesterday morning. All was well until it was time to land and the Airpower 250 retracts wouldn't come down. I spent a week tracing down air leak...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Cody,

I too am running the Airpower 250 retracts and like New2jets, noticed if the retract was slightly off in the mount or the wheel well it would bind up. Also, it seems to be exaggerated...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

I've had to add twelve ounces of weight to the tail to balance mine. I have three batteries next to my UAT under the canopy just ahead of the wing tube with airpower retracts. Dry weight is 15...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

My first Falcon was flown with a P-60 without any mods except hardware to steel for 80 successful flights. Crashed due to dumb thumbs at about 100 mph with the wing and wing tube remaining intact...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Hey Guys,

I turned the nose wheel around and it made all the difference in the world. The forward angle made the steering too sensitive. I think with the strut angled back it has inherent...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Well Mike,

Whatever the principle it's called that is causing this effect, it sure is profound. I almost cartwheeled the Falcon just taxiing it around. I wasn't even up to half lift off...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Bob,

I did add 50% expo but was having an issue with the steering not tracking where I intended it to go. In other words, I would be going straight, then the gear leg would lean slightly and...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Joe,

You were right about the back angle to the nose gear issue. I finished up my Falcon and did some range test and ground runs but found the steering way too sensitive with the angle...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Would a matchbox be useful for putting brakes on down elevator? Can it be trimmed so that only full down elevator activates the brakes?

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Mike,

You make a good point about needing more channels. I am finishing up my second Falcon, this time with brakes and would like more channels. How is everyone with a
7 channel hooking up...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Ed,

All but one of us are on Spektrum, the one is on Futaba. I was the first to switch, so most bought after watching me fly Spektrum and gave them confidence to buy. But the Futaba has been...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Our flying field is situated adjacent to a Naval training base and we have always had interference problems from day one with all previous radio systems. All of us now fly 2.4 Ghz and for 2 years...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Thanks Mike,

The air is passing under the tubing. It is strange that the connection seems very tight but yet they still leak at only 40 psi. Could small abrasions on the connection be the...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Anyone here using the Airpower retracts? I have been having air leaks on the nipples and was wondering what could be done to stop it from leaking?

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Do you fly without the front wheel well in place? I'm asking because I am having trouble getting the retract to fit the well without cracking it due to the hinge on the oleo strut from...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Tow ,

Just vent the tank out the bottom without a one way valve. On your second question, use a Festo fitting or another UAT!

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

I like the velcro on the canopy! It will work great. It keeps the canopy looking clean and quick and easy to remove in a hurry if needed. I wonder who thought of that idea in this...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Left my canopy untrimmed, then slapped velcro on fuse and canopy. Seventy flights without losing and counting!
