My problem is I can't get to the low speed needle without pulling the engine about an inch off the firewall. So, I can't do it while it's running. That's one thing.

Everything is new. New carb, all new gaskets, all new o-Rings on the intakes and on the carb insert. New crank, new cams. Still has original valves and springs, but they looked ok. Even tried aux....

OK BTW, I'm back to square one with the 1.70R. Turn low speed needle back to manuals recommended 3 turns out. I prime it, it burns out the primer and quits. I guess I will keep opening the low speed...

Yes, I have onboard glow on all 3 cylinders and mostly OS F plugs.

A full size Cub is a little different in that you use a lot of forward stick with full power to get the tail up, and then you neutralize the stick until takeoff speed, then up elevator.

It looks to me like it should be BDC because the cam lobes are on the same side as the gear dot.?

Ok, I forgot the install of the cam gear on the Saito 1.70R. Does the dot on the cam gear go on the crank shaft gear at bottom dead center?

All my Saitos run better on synthetic fuel. Especially 20% Heli fuel. 100T, 180, 170R, 450R
