They kinda disserved their price till the late 80's or early 90's, when they started nickel plating and using cheap bearings,.

I don't know why you would pay $30 for a gallon of fuel when you can mix it yourself for around $10. It is not hard to do.

My experience is that the older ST's ran best with a lot of nitro, up to 20% anyway. The old crossflow engines had about the same compression as the US made versions. It was not till the 80's,...

My experience is that if the engine isn't real tight you get a small performance boost with synthetic oils. But if not then it will run hotter than with castor. And no protection from a lean run.

Just buy the methanol, oil, and nitro and mix to the percentages you want. Lots of posts in the fuel forum.

Every regulator made is proportional control, as well as many other control systems. If they wanted something to crow about they would come up with a PID fuel control system. LOL

I don't know about a Rossi, but I believe the ST .51 has more torque than most .50 sized four strokes.

Most companies that make the same engine in both versions have the same power rating on both versions FWIW.

Do you really expect anyone to have parts for a thirty year old design? Try the control line forum. This engine was so popular with the control line crowd that there are still aftermarket parts...
