RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks, Hobbsy.
As I indicated, my starting point, with the end even with the throttle barrel, my gap is much wider than yours.
Will start closer to your pic, and go from there.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Double posted, sorry.

How come the "Report" option doesn't appear, for me, for my own posts?

Jimbo,
If you want to get by with 15%, try Magnum. My FA80 and FA91S run great on it.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Yep. In fact, I just double checked.

You know , if you stop and think about it, calling the Low Speed adjustment a needle is incorrect. It's actually a tube that extends over the "notch" in...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Fellow SAITO enthusiasts,
I have a bit of a dilemma, with my FA-91s. I've tried a couple of different tuning techniques, from this thread. But, I still can't get the top end over about 8800...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Why is there so much opposition to the 3-bladed props?

(Except the heavy ones on the PTS planes. That's obvious.)

I would think they could be used to accommodate ground clearance, and...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks, Hobbsy. I wasn't aware the throttle position would have an affect on that.

Also, I do have this tuning procedure copied, from earlier in the thread. I thought I was pretty close to...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Hey, fellas,
I recently started running a used FA91s, I acquired.
Before I started trying to adjust the needles it would start and run with ease. But, it seemed to awfully rich, both HSN and...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Club SAITO help?

I will be putting an FA91fs into a pattern plane, and would like to move the fuel tank back to the C of G. Or, as close as possible.
Assuming I will need a pump, what would be...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks, Ernie. But, I wasn't trying to start the engine, or anything like that. Actually, I was rocking the prop shaft back and forth to enter some After run oil into the crankcase, when I heard the...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

After reading more of Bill Robison's wonderful document, I decided to reset the valve adjustment on my FA-80 to .0005".
When I had finished, I was turning the prop hub (by hand), and I heard what I...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Jim,
I know how the 3-line setup is supposed to work. My first plane is/was a NexSTAR. I was trying to help decipher your problem.
So, in reading your setup, if the pressure line has a clunk,...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Jim,
How did you configure the 3-line setup?
I always thought the third line was just to make it easier to fill the tank?
If this is your case, did you plug the 'new' third line?

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Recently, I received an older model Saito 80. I installed a Slimline "Pitts-Style" muffler (non-smoke), and in trying to tune the engine I have been having trouble getting above 1/2 throttle. Now, I...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks, blw. I'm glad I found this 'thread?".
At nearly 7000 replies and 280 pages, I would think the "Club" threads should be set up as their own forum/chapters.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks, guys. The only explanation is, the 7mmx1 spinner nut must have been packaged wrong.
The threads are fine. The prop nut that came with the engine goes on and off fine. I just can't verify...
