RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Hello,

I just leave them be. When the gear retracts the cables get slack but its not enough for it to get caught on anything. I drilled up at an angle right through the wood formers/gear...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Hello guys!

I haven't posted in a while but its because I've been very busy.

The plane is about 99% done...only a few tweaks of the programing on the radio and some re-programing of the...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Thanks for the tips Tim, I will certainly keep that in mind if any issues arise.

What I had thought about was that if it leaked I could always order "Square section" O-rings from McMaster Carr. ...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Eagle,

I made these like the original BVM brakes where the O-ring seals against the sides of the groove and expands out, nothing fancy. The inside surface of the groove was very precisely...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

I'm definitely interested...even though I have been working on my own, god knows if they will last more than a flight or two.

Let us know price please.

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Just a quick update of my build. I'd day my struts are 90-95% done with the exception of the main strut upper mount area (overall length) which I will determine when I start installing the gear.

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Here are two pics of the main struts once the spring was installed on each one. They feel really sturdy. Now I need to define the overall length and shorten them to my needs. Then machine the tops...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Hello!

Quick update on the struts. The front one is pretty much finished and works great and the rear ones are about 70% there.

As discussed earlier, these will fit the stock wheel wells...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Actually its a bit of both. I designed them and chose a spring so that when the gear is down and the airplane is on the ground they will be compressed (not all the way of course) making them shorter...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Quick Update!

I reinforced the booms with a combination of gorilla glue, Medium CA and epoxy depending on the area. I went in from every opening I could get to, I think they will hold fine. I...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Here are some pics of the strut progress. The Fork was cut on a Wire EDM machine and that is how I was able to cut that shape. The leg was CNC milled and it is a clamp design instead of with...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

Yes I agree 100%, I have an FOD screen for it, I was just laying the turbine on there for pictures...The FOD screen will probably require that I grind some fuselage around that area but shouldn't be...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

I forgot to add, my wing spar seems pretty thick walled and heavy, I'd say as thick as the one that came in the Kangaroo...I will still do the dowel thing but its surprising that this would bend...

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet

So I finally started working on mine. I decided to purchase some gorilla glue so that I could "drip" it into the wing from all the angles I could reach to reinforce the internal structure...

Of...
