RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

G'day OF,

Thanks - currently the engine is in a pulse Xt 60 which means it is quite tightly cowled around the crankcase but the engine sits up high - the entire cylinder is exposed. Will try...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Hi All,

I have a problem with my Saito 100 backfiring in the air (not on start-up). Engine has around 10 litres through it and running on 20% nitro 18% lubricant (16% Klotz 200/2% castor), 14 x...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Hi Dave,

Looking at getting an Aeroworks YAK 54 .90-1.20 and the AW recommended 4S is Saito 125 but reviews say power for the YAK is adequate but not great (ie wont really...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks FNQ flyer - I'm a TMAC member so will keep that for the next problem (sent it to Brian Winch in Sydney - the "engin-ear" from Airborne Mag - he's been very helpful).

Hope your fingers are...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Hi there The Pope,

Thanks - will order the new cylinder from HHQ and give it a go. Good advice on the disassembly! LHS has been very disappointing considering the large number of $ that have...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Gday Mike,

Thanks - very useful - I have an Airborne subscription so will have a look. Chat with my LHS this morning which was very depressing - looks as though there is no substantive Saito...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks - I've learned my lesson - will be much more careful tightening the screws in the future! Tomorrow I've got to work out how I can get it fixed in Australia - first stop LHS I guess. Not keen...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Dear All,

Many thanks for your suggestions and PMs. Really appreciate it. However, I think I have led most of you astray with my initial description where I omitted a key word - it was the...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Hi All,

I have a virtually new Saito 100 and was just adjusting the valve clearances following break-in but overtightened one of the rocker arm screws. The overtightening stripped out and...
