RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I found a glove in my garage with just the right amount of padding; I've been using it and it works great.
If I ever decide to use a stick again, I'll make my own from a section of thick dowel rod...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Cool; lesson learned for me about the 5% nitro.
Just make sure you post some flight videos so we can hear the sound of that sweet engine...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Honestly, I'm thinking you are trying to tackle too many "firsts" at once. If this is your first Saito and your first big engine, just run it as a big Saito on glow fuel and understand you will use a...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

It sounds to me like he is saying "use glo because it's cheaper in the long run [than gas]".

I personallyfind this argument hard to believe, unless you mix your own glow fuel and you have access...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Does your FA-72 have the plastic rear crankcase cover? If so, perhaps vibration of the cover is rubbing against the rear bearings during operation? If this is the case, I would consider replacing the...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

The Saito 82 seems to be very small for this model at the weight range that you are estimating. Even with a few ounces saved here and there, I can't see this engine flying this plane very well at 10+...

I do this too...I have a fiberglass mount on my Twist .60...originally held a Saito FA-115. Replaced that with a Magnum .91FS (for breakin) and drilled/tapped new holes in the same motor mount at...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

That screw set is not really necessary. I went to my LHS and bought a small pack of 2.5mm or 3mm screws (don't remember which) and they worked just fine. The LHS had the screws with all their R/C car...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks for the offer...but I'll pass. I've already purchased a metal backplate (and O-rings, etc) for my SA-72.
In fact, I'll add my old plastic back plate to the offer - free to any interested...

Kostas1, You said your "new" engine has something missing. Is this engine purchased new or did you purchase it from a previous owner?
The pictures you sent showed some marks around the carb screws...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Interesting...I looked on the Horizon Hobby site and could not find the part listed, even though I know the part to which you refer.
I found an image of an FA-125 which shows the spring clip:...
