Could something have gotten into the fuel nipple...

Could something have gotten into the fuel nipple and blocked the spraybar somewhere? That happened to me once.

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Just for the record, when I used Toysonics, it was to get parts for an old G-21 .46 which hasn't been made in a while, so the dealer may have some parts in the back room. I think I phoned him rather...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

This might be a source for SuperTigre parts http://www.toysonics.com/

I used him years ago but don't know if he still carries parts, but it might be worth a shot.

Just my $.02

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Thanks... I see my engine listed. I thought that he might have a website too where I could get some education on rings. Can a dykes ring be substituted for a common ring or does the piston have to...

I've never heard of Bowman rings. Can you tell me a little bit more about them and send a link??

Thanks,

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Hi Hobbsy,

I took a closer look at that engine in your post.. I had looked too quickly before. I was wrong about the engine that I thought it was.

Are those muffler lugs/ears an add-on,...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Hi Hobbsy,

Yup, I have a couple of those Supertigres, a .46 and a .40. They aren't as powerful as some of their contemporaries, but they're still good for sport models...

I wish my G21-46...

Hi Ed and Dave,

Yup, I've never seen that picture before.. thanks!! I wonder if that insert is available somewhere... I'm going to check the Manufacturer's Direct Support forum to see if...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Hi Ed,

I ran it at my field and used my noise meter on it.. I was at 97-98db. I might be able to shave a couple db by going from a 10x6 to a 11x5 prop, not sure. Our field rule is 95db.

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Hi Rainedave,

I'll try to turn a nosecone and fasten it without damaging the existing muffler... I hate doing things like that to vintage pieces...

I was just hoping that perhaps an...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Thanks for your offer, Rainedave, I got your PM, but it doesn't look like it'll work...

As you can see, my engine is a bit dated... no mounting bosses for a muffler. I guess I'm stuck with the...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

I have a G21-46 and can't run it... the muffler that came with it was a flow-through and won't meet local noise standards. I know that I could get a strap-on, but I was wondering...

Did the G21...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Nope, a few years ago they moved everything to China... There is still some debate over whether anyone can find any difference between Chinese or Italian-made engines. I think they are still using...

No apologies necessary... Thanks for the reply... My first 'mentor' was when I was a draftsman designing custom hardware. I had a crusty old tool and die maker who 'worked for me' (suuuuure) but...

The worst I've had to work was .0005, so you're 10 times more precise. If I'm not mistaken, machinery that can be that precise is set up on an isolated work pad so that it's isolated from any...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Well, I suppose you could make it out of a 1" long tube of copper and then mill it down to .003 after you drilled the holes..... :D

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

I'm no expert, but I'm wondering if the blunt tip may be intentional to minimize turbulence as the fuel passes by the end of the needle?

Again, I'm not trying to pass this off as fact, just...

This is just a shot in the dark, but how about this carb bolt (ahem, carb retainer)?

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

W8YE, in post 885, has the answer for you. Send the head to Clarence Lee for repair. It will most likely be less expensive than buying a new head, if you can even find one.

Take the head off...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Hi HaveBlue,

I just took the backplate off my GS045 and I don't see a dimple on the conrod. I presume that it faces foreward. I tried to take a photo but couldn't focus quite tight enough.
