RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I would do everything I could to aviod that particular TT adaptor. It requires you to ream the inside hub of your prop to a whopping 1/2"!! I ended up with a mix of Tru-Turn and Dave brown parts on...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Be sure to note that Higley sells heavy (brass) and lightweight (aluminum) thin lock nuts so get the one that best suits your needs.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Hmm, good info. It still has great compression so I really don't want to disassemble it just to clean it up. I might try to soak it in glow then run it and see if most of it blows out.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Well, I suppose I expected it wouldn't get worse. I was just wondering if running the new fuel will clean it out at all or if I need to get in there and clean it manually? Any ideas?

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I just received a used, but seemingly in excellent shape, 125. Overall the engine is pretty clean but looking through the exhaust port there seems to be a lot of carbon type buildup on the exhaust...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Yep, that is a problem with the wide apc props. Most just use a couple of aluminum washers to make up the difference. Or, they switch to Xoar props. The 15x6 is a good 3D prop for the 100.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I think you will have less problem with the tank center line a bit below the spray bar than above it. Your engine should be fine sucking fuel out of the tank. It does it all the time when vertical.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I use a small .050 allen wrench cut down on both ends to make the right size.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

A plywood spacer at the firewall would be the best bet. It'll move the CG though so be prepared.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Mine has a similar leak down. I imagine that the oil helps seal the gap in the ring and probably even the valves to keep the compression high when wet. After 2 gallons you are ready to lean her...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

The prop tips will stabilize a bit in the air since the prop won't have the torque on it that it does with no air speed. Think of it like power braking your car....wheels spin and hop but the car...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I have 1 more question. On the .82, how many o rings are there in the carb where the intake tube seals in the throat? On my carb, there is 1 O ring in a groove about 1/8" down but it looks like...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Hi all, I'm instaling the Saito velicity stack on my .82 and noticed that there is a visable gap between the carb body and the base of the velocity stack. Is there a gasket or an O ring that is...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
