It won't! The oleo struts are a drop in fit! So take the old out and in with the NEW!!! They did get the Carbon Fiber wing tubes correct!!

I have used Hysol in the past and I do like it I just push each part out with my hands into a mixing cup then stir with a stick. However, the applicator would be nice if you want to spend the $80 dollars for it

I finally got Gee Bee in the air today. Flies great although I think I'm a bit tail heavy. It dropped the tail quite a bit when I slowed for my landing approach. I was also WAY too wild on my control throws which made the elevator a bit touchy when trying to land the nose up plane...

I also had another issue to report Gerry. The fiberglass spar tube guide in one wing let go of the root rib and had so little resin on it that is just crumpled up when I tried to insert the aluminum spar tube. I was finally able to straighten it enough that I could insert the spar so I could fly and I will repair it by adding some epoxy with the tube inserted.

The other wing seems fine.

Here's a couple of pics at the field.

Here's something you guys with the 30cc versions need to check. The spar for the stab on my kit seems too short in my opinion (aproximately 8 5/8"). I've made Gerry aware of this and he is looking into it.

Below are a couple of pictures I took after my flying session today. I noticed one panel of the stab was hanging down when I was taking the wing's off my plane today. Turns out the spar tube vibrated almost completely into the other stab half leaving almost no engagement with the right hand side. Quick fix would be to glue the spar centered in the fuse. I'm a bit reluctant to do this myself since the tube is so short. The glass tube in the stab panels extends to the 4th rib, but if the aluminum tube is glued centered it will only extend through the 2nd rib in each stab half. Seems we're losing a lot of potential strength by not engaging more ribs. If the spar tube were longer it would solve the issue I had and improve the strength of the stab as well.

These pictures show the position of the spar when I landed, I merely removed the stab panel...

Thanks Phil!!!

I wanted to let EVERYONE know that the feedback is GREAT!! Weather it be good or bad! I need this to improve the model! For those with the 30cc we are getting longer tubes sent to us by Fedex. So if you want one email or call us! Also, Robart Mfg. is working on the struts. We were looking to change the set-up, but decided to stay with whats there. I hope to have a set soon! On the 100cc and the 150cc they will be changed.
I know some of you feel like you are pestering me by the emails and need to fix this or that.... Guys and Girls..... I care what you have to say!!! SO PLEASE DON'T STOP!!! Pictures are GREAT, I send everything I can to them to be worked out! The second round is under construction as I write this. They email me and send pictures of the improvements. So everything you send or tell me is being taken care of!!
I will post more as I get it. Also on this container is 2 samples of the Laired SS. One 30 to 50cc and one 50 to 75cc.
Again THANKS to Everyone that has Helped me with this!! Look for more of the 1930's and 40's planes coming... If you would like to see a model coome out, PLEASE shoot me a email!!!

Thanks Again!!!

Then on to the wing and undercarrage.
Would of loved to attach the wires direct to the undercarrage legs, but no were to attach them.
There are pads inside the spats, so that were they went. I've stuffed the legs with high density foam. This has give the wire legs a bit more support.

Just about there.
Engine runs done. Getting 6k out of the CRRC-Pro GF55II with a Hawk 21X12.
Had to fit extensions to the pipes to clear the cowl.

Just about ready for a test flight.
Fitting the decals was a bit tricky.
Had a shocker when cutting the cowl for the plug caps. I'll cover this with some Alum vents.
C&G came in at 5.5", so no need for lead.
Just afew tidy ups and hope to fly it. Will not be this weekend as I'm going away Aero towing. I play tug pilot, so by the end of the day I'm all flown out.

Cheers
Grossy

Hey Gerry, are you going to post some detailed photos of the 50cc Super Solution? I checked your web site and there was no info on the 50cc. Can you post some dimensions and kit info on the 50cc Super Solution?

Thanks Gerry

And while we're asking questions, Gerry, are the stab spars on one of these containers you are referring to? You had said before that longer tubes were coming by Fedex.

For those with the 30cc we are getting longer tubes sent to us by Fedex.
Then you stated above that the carbon tubes are being shipped EMS.

I want everyone to know that we have the carbon tubes on the way!! They sent them EMS.
What's EMS? Even More Slowly? [8D]

Just kidding but still waiting...

EMS is acutally pretty fast, its comparable to UPS 3 Day air but cheaper by a couple of bucks and maybe 2 days slower, but light years faster than the mail.

Well guys I flew it last Saturday.
It was not pretty........
I had the C&G at around 6". Way to tail heavy. All over the sky. I got it down in one piece, but it was touch and go.
It also wanted to turn left real bad. I sort of got it trimed for straight and level, but my main effort was getting it down in 1 piece.
I will have to check my trims and see were they ended up. I may have to put some more right thrust into to it.
I'll fix it up and try again this weekend.
By the way Looks great in the air, so everybody tells me. I was a bit bussy.
The GF55II ran like a dream.

Cheers

Un less its a photo issue, You seem to have had the same mistake as I had. if you read my earlyer post. (even thow mine was 30cc)

Your left wheel pant dose not look completly strate with the body. These huge wheel paints act as rudders and when one is not right it will pull the this sexy bird all over the place. That and being a little off on CG it was the hardest plane I have flown.

But once I fixed the wheel paints and moved CG a little farther up, she has become 50% better. With the first 2 flights with messed up gear I thought I would have to sell this bird. But now I love it.

Also not mentioned much, She dose not fly like any other bird I have, you have to start useing your rudder to keep it level. Its a cool feature of the wheel paints, it will go in to a nife edge and stay there by its self for days. LOL

I love this Gee Bee
