Thanks Pete, I don't have a Beer fridge, just an occasionally Wine fridge. I am hoping to run that .56 today, it's cold and rainy though. Well see. I found a perfectly balanced APC 12x6 and a 12x6 Xoar. The picture is of an FA .40, but I have the same selection of exhaust's for the .56.

Neh - FAKE.

No extended white hat with a cross on it.. no purple gown... and no black smoke signifying that a new "Pope" has been decided upon....

Some of the twins came with 10mm straight pipes over the years and of course some of the .50's came with them too. I have a small collection of extra Saito stuff.

Anyone have any advice on fuel tank size for a dual carb Saito 300? I like to be landing after about 8 minutes, and have a good reserve for fly-arounds. Engine is going in a 1/4 scale Boeing F4B-4. I have never run this brand new engine, or any 4-strokes on glow for that matter.

Dude, for most Saitos you can figure, 1 oz of fuel per minute per cubic inch of displacement at full throttle. All that hinges on the LS needles being set correctly since they control about 85% of the throttle range. This improves somewhat as the engines get larger due to running larger props at lower rpm.

My Gemini 120 has straight pipes, they sound awesome, they bark when you back off the throttle. I also have a Saito 45 with a straight pipe, haven't run it yet, so can't comment on the sound, but being straight piped, the Gemini was actually pretty quiet.

It is, Doc Brown, and if know that scene, he had that one drink in front of him all night. Passed out on the floor after finally downing it.

And now you know I was razzing you with that pic.

Dave,
Since the 300 is 50cc's or 3 cu. in., 8 minutes would be 24 oz with no reserve. Better step up to a 32 oz. Thanks very much for the advice. Wow...these flights will be expensive using 4-stroke glow fuel!

Convert to CDI, and use fuel with less nitro for more power(At least that is what one of the guys here claims). Of you can convert to CDI and get a gas carb and intake for the FG-57 which I do believe is the FA-300 converted to gas, and run it on gas instead of glow, but lose some power.

I would love to convert to gas but it seems like a pretty big hassle, and likely pretty costly. C-H ignition does not seem to have a kit to do it. Getting the headers, carb, carb mount etc sounds like a nightmare...unless you guys could point the way?

SAIG57TS164 $72.75
SAIG57TS821 $176.67

Not 100% sure that these will actually fit though since I have not been able to determine if the FG-57 was designed off the 300T like Saito did with the other engines. The FG-11 is based off the FA 62, so most parts are interchangeable. If I replace the carb and header I can make it CDI glow.

Dave's (please pardon the liberty I took of posting your 130t, Dave) FA-130t had cast mufflers, mine on Spacewalker II has tubular machined ones, the one in the original review had straight pipes with pressure tap at end. "Any which way but up", I guess.

Sincerely, Richard

Thanks Richard, you were probably trying to post this picture of the 1.30, it also wore the stock straight pipes and for a time it wore twin Turbo headers. The second picture has it with twin Cline regulators. It ran the same with two as with one.
