A pair of those missiles came up fast behind me on the Interstate. There was no traffic. I was in the truck and felt like a plane seconds from being shot down.

Older 120
Thanks for the response to my question. The Saito I have is a FA-120S with Hemi Heads and I can't figure out which intake manifold and carburetor fits it. The one off my later 120 will not work. I bought the FA-120S as new in the box off Ebay but the intake manifold and carb were missing.

Mine is definitely a Hemi.... Came with an exhaust pipe instead of a muffler so I am thinking it's an older version of the 120. The carb and intake off my 120 GK will not fit this one and I don't know where to get ones that do.

OK MW, does your carburetor look like the one pictured above or like the later 1.20 and 1.50, Thanks
Here is a test of the FatHead 1.20 as it is affectionately called.
Saito FA-120
AC, I believe the little .30 and FA .40a have 9mm exhaust.

I'd wait a while just because they make you.Love it when young digital tech heads get together with older grumpy people to design a phone you can get returns on,see pic below.

I talked with the seller of the FA-120, he's giving me my money back and I am keeping the engine. Who knows, might find the parts later or build an intake myself....

Can't go there, ACDII. Not even going to think about close calls.
Glad you're getting your money back. A bad deal is tough to live with. Sounds like you did okay.

At only .10 cubic inch less displacement one wonders why the .30 muffler is so much shorter. It could be that Saito did a little sound engineering as the .30 when at full song sounds like a big engine. The prop is a Graupner 10x5.5. On 10% Wildcat and a Fox Miracle plug.

There has been some talk here and abroad that the 50 sized Saito velocity stack is too small for the Saito 1.00 and the 1.25. It barely smaller than the 1.00's venturi ..015" smaller than the 1.25's venturi. I ordered some remnant K&S tubing both brass and aluminum and some 9mm pieces. The aluminum v-stack on the 1.00 is maybe .010" larger than the venturi and the V-stack on the 1.25 is about the same larger than the 1.25's venturi. The FA .40a is pictured because it has a cast in tapered velocity stack that 12mm deep. Just doin stuff for fun, naturally ruined a couple but no biggy, I just cut off some tubing and started over. To make the 1.25 V-stack I had to enlarge the hole in the V-stack clip,to .375".
Some day I hope to get back into the planes. Today I tried to fix the water line to the barn. Trenched and replaced the line where I though the leak was, turns out that it it right at the foundation, where I can't get at with the backhoe because of the AC unit. The ground there was so hard that I was doubting that was where the actual leak was, and thought it was where all the mud was. Have to bore through the foundation a few feet over and try that next.

Digging under a foundation is never fun, less fun if it's a sewer pipe.
I may get a chance to play the velocity stack game some more today.
I have all this wood to cut into 25" lengths and to split, it came in a Ford L 9000 heaped up,over the top. It keeps my biceps stretching my Tee shirt sleeves, even at 75.
