Thanks Flyer. I have one more, going to go in the Sig 1/5 scale Cub. I modified it, rear servo elevators, pull pull on rudder servo behind the rear bulkhead, access from bottom of fuselage.
I build the classics, except my love for these Cubs. Solartex Cub Yellow and Robart gear. Here are a few pictures of a Hangar 9 Cub I did few years ago, with a Saito 60 Twin. This 90TS will go up for sale.

Bruce that greasy gummy effect you talk about on old furniture in relation to 'patina' is just decades of other peoples sweat although sr takes a lot of time to define it precisely...he and i were going to have an engine run off years ago because he had his own highly milled saito 180 abcxyz and i had a bog stock saito 220 zues single.Upshot was that we would do top speed top prop runs and see who won.I know for sure that since he was on another continent entirely i was free to cheat my bum off even tho i still reckon i would have won.He,on the same winning note would probably have been willing to do a full throttle prop shear if only to post a pic of the brief tacho number

Years ago some guy Photoshop'ed one of Dave's (Hobbsy) famous pics of him taching an engine with his TNC tach. They changed the numbers to show the RPM way up around 30k on an OS 40 LA.

It was hilarious. Some new member was claiming his 40 LA would turn 20k's and the usual result was happening daily. To make it better, the guy was determined to argue with every comment so he was the punching bag for some great comments, but Dave's famous TNC taching pics were well known and that pic probably caused a few keyboards to get sprayed with coffee, coke, etc..

Cranky that's what we call hornbag good lookin over here,the engine looks so good in that it must be fun hearing it doing touch and go's.

Jim that cessna skymaster sounds way better than some weedwacker engined classic aircraft do,looks good too and i wish he'd flown it a bit more scale.What size saito's are in it? he might be able to fit something smaller.I don't think like that way normally and favour more is better.
I don't know if it's a good idea to mention dave (hobbsy's) famous bench running tacho pics barry.He used to swear apc props may not be top on his list for years,but lo and behold he posts a saito bench running engine that has an apc prop on it...i know! i damn near fell over myself too

He did, the kit is a prototype coming out after the first of the year. The workmanship is all first class too. The kit producer is using his build as a basis to improve the production kit. Thy are waiting for a maiden flight report with the rest of us sidewalk supervisors.

The club had some old timers who sat in lawn chairs and circled around doing touch and goes as the sun went down. I used to think they were hogging the field but I started noticing W8YE's Saitos and they were barely ticking over. You could barely hear them. I got hooked on sitting there with him doing that. Touch and goes shows that a well broken in and well tuned Saito is one of the sweetest engines there is.

After this episode, the APC's went into the fire pit, Xoar's are the prop of choice now. It still have Jim's .56 on a Sig Four Star 54.

those mas master props do flex a lot but not enough to reach out and grab your fingers..you only see that on a bench run most times,are you going to buy a motorcycle and get some hair in the breeze?

I have w8ye's .56 and it still ticks over like a Swiss watch. I installed new Boca Bearings in it,(it didn't actually need them), but I like to do stuff. It also wears a Turbo Header.

It means real good lookin italian pit girls when ducati race the way they hold umbrellas always facinates.
Agree with you on the black plastic master airscrew props with the white tips bruce.Barry mentioned that they flexed to much for his liking but i think there is a plus to that,they can take many hard ground strikes in rapid order off a tarmac strip,so many that you can visibly see your white tipped propellor getting shorter.A bonus is that if you fit one to a well tuned saito they make a sonic boom over the airfield,your flying mates will be stoked!
Apc's are delicate like wood props.Sometimes you get lucky with a light groundstrike and it just clips about a quarter inch off one or both tips,any heavier and they start to shatter just like a wooden one...let's use a zoar for example.
