Left hand side fuel tank off a harley soft tail i painted last year.It's meant to represent the only spanner you need in the tool kit...


Nice 84" scale chippie on take off powered by an old os 120.Later fitted a saito 125 which struggled on a 16x6 prop

9,025 rpm is not struggling in my book, that's just about right.Especially with a big paddle wheel like the MA 16x6 Classic.

have you ever painted a plane in such cool stuff that you do with fuel tanks. Or are you like all the other guys i kkow that are master painters and paint like a god and make there airplanes look as scale as the next guy.
I guess i am just trying to figure out way. Guys can’t paint gas tanks and cars that make you go WOW!!!!! But don’t usually cover or paint there planes with such arthritis abilities.

I'll second that,having a saito play up during the first start of a flying day is'nt funny so figuring out a solution is rewarding.My little saito 30 was a bugger initially till dave explained the differences in adjusting air bleed carbs.After that you could just grip the spinner with thumb and forefinger and give it one flick clockwise.

Cap i don't paint any of my own planes much just a bit here and there as needed though i've been asked to do other peoples.The only one i'm committed to is a large all composite focke wolf 190 a8 for a good friend.It's powered by a moki 250cc radial that weighs 5.5kg and swings a 33x16 scale prop which i will paint too,along with a black and white spiral spinner and a fuse in winter camo with suitable exhaust stains on the cowl and fuse under the cockpit and on the belly.

so I removed that Burr on the edge of my Tappet's Boar, the drill thing would have removed to much, I tested it on a brass tube,, and the lollipop stick's diameter was smaller than the Boar, so no need to tapper the stick,, so I just took the lollipop stick and put some toothpaste on it and held it on an angle to the Boar and rubbed it back and forth on the edge of the Boar and twisted it as I did, it didn't take much and it was a done job, and it didn't add scratches to the Boar,,, slick , A ?

You are going to think you are in model airplane heaven when you hear that Moki 250cc crank up. A guy worked on one here about 12 years ago. Got to watch it run on the test stand (another story), and we ran the Focke Wolfe with the Moki inside the hobby shop one Friday night. We had to take turns standing in front of the h. stabilizer with our ankles as it hurts after a few minutes. You won't forget the sound. I think this Focke Wolf made the competition rounds that year. I only saw it fly from a video. Those Moki radials had a lot of problems back then. I think I got this right- the 210cc would break pieces out of the piston skirts due to slap....I think on the bottom end. It's been a while but I'm pretty sure that's what happened often to the first design. The 250's were plain brute power and sounded so good. That hobby shop folded after a while due to some misconduct, but it was fun while it lasted. They used to race cars at night in the parking lot on 50% nitro. One Sunday night at 9PM I ruined a fuselage side with my last roll of covering. Sure enough, the shop was open and I drove a few minutes and bought a roll of what I needed. You can't beat that.

No you can't,and it's getting harder to find in this digital age where price and convenience mostly rule over getting in your car and driving to the local hobby shop you describe so well.It's a club atmosphere in it's own right and that's worth a lot.Over here we are lucky enough to have a couple of corsairs with the moki 250 fitted and the aeroplane takes about an hour to assemble and test to flight readiness,it was worth the wait.When they fired the engine you kind of lean back before you relax and enjoy that sound,low flybys are a hoot.On a smaller scale i have a saito 200r3 and keleo exhaust i've bench run that is going in a harvard,i think you call them at6 texans over there.

Here's a saito fa82 fitted with a straight through exhaust pipe from my fa182 flat twin.No baffles and the pressure nipple is at the end of the pipe so had to run the engine a bit fatter.


Dave somehow this photo got reversed but it's the opposite side soft tail harley tank to the left hand one with the pistol and ammo on it i posted previous

Good job Jim.
I should get the bearings for Captain Crunch's .82 today, I put a new spray bar and hs needle in it yesterday. The original spray bar was boogered in it's slot and the needle turned hard.
The 2nd .65 is almost done.

Nice work Pete, I just joined the NRA, now to get a couple of fire arms.

I've been trying to find a non "cap commando" type .223 rifle. All I have found so far are bolt action. Went to Walmart and they moved all their rifles to behind the counter so you can't look at them. Really stupid. They used to be in a round case out where you could see them.

Harley xg500 trike i painted early last year,this is what you call a stable harley!


Dave this will do you for home defence in 12ga or .410 as shown.Combine that with a winnie model 70 chambered in 25.06 or 7x57 and your done unless things get real serious in your neck of the woods.Then you could look at a 12ga streetsweeper stuffed to the gills with double o buckshot but i gotta warn ya they make real poor duck shootin guns

I reckon that bush hawk would suit the 30,it looks a bit beaver at the back and super cub at the front.I have a pheonix rainbow superlight electric converted with a 30 in it,goes like the clappers.

Well, I'm not quite in Pete's league when it comes to painting. Just a spur of the moment notion, the later .65 is ready for a trial run. I totally cleaned up the rocker covers after the picture was taken, I just didn't catch that when I had them off. So I had to em off again.

You certainly see a lot of Harley trikes now days. It use to be you only saw the retired police models and then Harley woke up and figured out there was a market for them. I remember back in the late 60s early 70s I had a neighbor that built a trike from an old VW drive train. It rode pretty good but you really need long forks and had to be careful or the front wheel wouldn't stay down. He replaced the front forks more than once due to a loss of control. The bike was naturally tail heavy.

I have been wanting a Goldwing Trike for a long times, but at 30K used, not going to happen. I can buy a really nice 5th wheel RV for that.

Thanks, the bike and I together weigh 880 pounds with 220 being me, so at 79 foot pounds of torque at 3,500 rpm it has a good strong mid range.

The plane as shown has a Saito .56 on it, I now have a new Saito 62B for it. I gotta break it in yet.

Okc there's no way you could wake up with a hangover and feeling a bit green...and look at that plus keep your breakfast down

You're very wrong there. Perhaps you need to do more research before you post.

The FA-115 does indeed use the same PISTON and ring as the FA-125 but the stroke is the same as the FA-91S and thus uses a shorter cylinder. The FA-115 is significantly shorter than the FA-125 (99 mm vs 105 mm) The FA-100 uses the bore of the FA-91S with the longer stroke of the FA-125 and the FA-100 is actually longer by 1 mm than the FA-125 and longer than the FA-115 by 7 mm.

It's the FA-100 that makes little sense.

Saito seems to be eliminating all glow engines that do not have a gas counterpart. It would not surprise me if the FA-150 hits the chopping block soon.

The FA-115 is only 2 mm taller than the FA-65 and is a much more compact package than either the FA-100 or FA-125 with more HP than the FA-100 and nearly the same as the FA-125.

Comparing the FA-115 to the FA-100 is like comparing a 302 SB Chevy to the 305 SB Chevy. The short stroke engine will have a significantly higher potential power output.

Comparing the FA-115 to the FA-125 would be more akin to comparing the 327 SB Chevy to the 350 SB Chevy. Not a significant advantage for the slightly bigger engine given that they have exacly the same bore & valve trains.
