Howdy mike...i believe you may have meant "aesthetically" pleasing, although it's healthy to feel ecstatic when listening to a saito run on high nitro. Having a winter clean up in the shed and found an old nitro bottle with a tiny bit left in the bottom, if you've ever sprayed that stuff on weeds it's instant death and wilting. An hour later and the plant is lying flat on the ground, just like drinking too much emu export at a bench flying session.

Jim i don't share your fear of running out of fuel while flying. You'll note that gary talks about flying low and slow figure eights and doing many touch and goes, it makes you a confident pilot who no longer fears deadsticks, in fact, enjoys them even flying heavily loaded warbirds. I always make it a point to fly the last tank of the day out and deadstick.

ps jim if you look back through the pics gary posted you will see that in one that he is wearing what looks like a stainless steel stretchy watch strap, you know, the kind that traps your arm hairs when you put it on and tears a lot out when you take the watch off....here's a safety warning for members here if you fly big electric heli's with house brick size batteries. Somehow the pilot managed to short circuit one with his stainless steel watch strap, man did that leave a large carbonated flesh impression on his wrist when we all looked. Mind you that took a while we had to wait for him to land and i wasn't that worried....it was only a stinky heli pilot

Pete, I have learned to cover the grass when running on the test stand in the yard or I have a brown spot in short order from exhaust residue. Why would any of us have to worry about shorting a big battery? We all have Saitos engines! Save the electric motors for your ceiling fans.

Slow but making progress. I have some honey does but my lung problems got worse I'm full of fluid and they ache constantly. Now they are suspect heart trouble. I go in for a PFT and a Echo on Tuesday and hopefully get some answers. As all you guys know old age ain't no place for sissies! Does that count RTF/ARF and Heli fliers?

Lungs filling with fluid, that can't be good Mike. I'll pray that the Docs are wrong about your heart too. Pain, seems like I'm always in pain. Back, neck or knee, something always hurts. I'm only 58, my wife is 64 and she is slowly but steadily slipping away into dementia. Different kind of pain.

I hope you get feeling better soon. Maybe less honey-dos and more Pinky time will help?

We loss my mother in-law to Lucy to Dementia so I know your pain. We took care of her for 16 years after my father in-law passed from cancer. My in-laws were pure gold so we had no problem stepping up to take care them. When Lucy got bad one thing that really brightened her up was music. She could still remember all the old hymns from when she was a girl and would sing along. I had a portable CD player we kept in her room and we would setup the CD to loop. She would sit for hours and listen it really brightened her day. Perhaps music will bring your wife the same pleasure?
I'm 62 my wife Alice is 65. She suffers from Lupus, Diabetes, and has 4 stents in her heart all in the last couple of years. I worry more about her if I go first. Congestive Heart and Lung failure got my father at 66 and his father died at 52 but that was in 1926. He was a farmer so the chances he ever saw a doctor aren't good.

Thanks to all of you for all the kind words, my grandson's name was Clay Everette Hess,he was one of those genuine characters we meet in life. He liked to ride wheel chairs down local motorcycle hill climbs. Power company right of ways to be more accurate, he broke each of his arms at different times doing that. He also liked to roll his mother's lawn tractor up on two wheels and drive a great arc around her yard. Not many families are immune from the drug scourge. My daughter and her other four children are receiving showers of love from friends and neighbors. My daughter bought my first Saito for me for Christmas in 92 or 93, it's the high compression 150 that I still have. I nicknamed him Clay Bob because he called everybody Bob, even his mother. Thank you all for caring.

Thanks Mike. Julie does love singing along to hymns. It's amazing that she remembers the lyrics to all the songs but can't exercise logic in the most simple of tasks.

Dave, 7 years ago my cousin's son died, he fell a sleep while driving his jeep. he too like my brother, he hit a tree. at the wake his 3 sisters were smiling and telling funny stories about him. showing funny pics of him. they loved him dearly. yet no tears. they were celebrating his life, he was not yet 30. I never saw a wake such like that. they are some strong girls. tell your family to celebrating your grandson's life.
my son brought me 2 pale ale beers today. tonight I will celebrating my brother's life and your grandson's life

Thanks Jim! I'm up a little late trying to get a little work in Pinky Saito's Pink N Poke. It has been a bear of a day but I'm starting to feel a little better chest doesn't ache quite so hard. I got a little carried away last night swinging a heavy garden tool trying to run off a opossum on the fence. I paid dearly last night and all day today. I probably should have gotten checked out but I'm thick headed. This afternoon I saw a few drops of blood on the fence and he hasn't come back so he is ether off to a friendlier spot or one of the neighbor's dogs had opossum for breakfast.

Mike, I'm still up, so I check out your post. I have a nice back yard and you know we had 2 groundhogs here early in the summer, one brown and one grey, I have had them here before.. sO, I went and bought a cheap pump Pellet gun. never saw them again LOL.. I guess they are mind readers LOL

Animals have the 6th sense, they know which day hunting season starts, what kind of guns you own and how good you are at using them. Deer even know your tolerance for cold and will be standing in front of your deer stand 5 minutes after you left it to go warm up. Burrrr & Gurrrr!

You will need the special wrench too. That is the part where most of the time is spent in fabrication.

Be certain is is in your field box or you may need pliers and a heat gun to swap props!

Its a beautiful prop nut! I would put it on my Cub but I have promised the airplane to my son's CAP unit to display. I just realized I don't know the the thread size that could affect what I put it on. I'm sure I have an engine for it though. If it works I'll put it on my Sopwith project it will make a nice complement to this and a proper wooden propeller.

Something weird happened during that site update last week too, when I hit the "return" key my keyboard disappears. Tap the screen and the keyboard reappears but do that enough times and the screen locks up.

Anyone else having that problem?
