Well hi guys sorry I haven’t been on the form lately I’ve been busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest thank God. however I did come across this little gem saito50 would you believe this poor engine is brand new in the box like somebody bought it new shoved it in a shelf somewhere damp and let her set the muffler and tools everything are still wrapped up in their plastic baggies and under the flap.

That former Avitar was a Farmall Super MD, this one is a Farmall 240, the last of the C, Super C, 200, 230 and 240 series. The last had 31 hp by turning 2,000 rpm.
I'm stalled on covering the Robin Hood 25, I have some light blue coming from MacGregors. Still looking for some Off White. I am mighty tempted to go with Cub Yellow Fabric.

I went with the Cub Yellow 21st Century Fabric, the rolls have $16.95 on them they cost near $75.00 now unless I'm reading something wrong.

Mike, Pinky looks great, I'll take a shot at restoring that 50 for you if you'd like, it's been about 3 weeks since I touched an engine.

I ordered this guy, it's a little pricey, from the reviews I read it's worth a try.
Wood River Covering Iron, LCD readout and digital temperature control. It's 64 bucks, but hopefully worth it.

I have one black 21st Century iron, 3 of the Top Flite style not all of them have TF on them, and 2 trim irons. The TF style only have one plastic part the knob. The 21st Century seems to be the most stable on heat but I check them all with a coil thermometer often when covering. They were all bought used so age could be a factor. I hope you will give us a full report on how the Prolux iron works for you.

I kept it in a drawer in a Craftsman tool box, I had been using it off and on all week. The last one melted and went up in smoke a couple of years ago, so this ones not that old.
The new one is supposed to arrive on Saturday and I'll report.
