My twostrokes are not smelly.... they smell like lawnmowers, just like my fourstrokes

To the best of my knowledge, the height of the centre of gravity has very little impact on roll rate or inverted behaviour. That is more a function of dihedral than anything else... The pendulum-effect does not really exist in fixed wing planes. Helicopters is a different story, but there only when the rotorsystem is cardanic.

My only 2 stroke glow engine is smelly, so are my smaller 4 strokes. Those are on planes too lightweight and fuel effecient to worry about gas conversions. Just my take on things. It's a hobby, allowing for individual choices.

Agreed, with planes, vertical CG is of little importance for sport flying. Longitudinal and lateral CG is all that's needed.

Hi Pete, good to hear from you! I hope your Emu is holding out! I'm having a weakness in the left hand and arm and that is slowing me down. Neurologist and Neurosurgeon haven't a clue of the cause. Been 38-40C all this week so I'm staying inside watching old episodes of Mayday and building a little. Its hard trying to work mostly one handed slows me down. Lungs appear to be aggravated by the heat, I had a 3 day asthma attack that wasn't fun for the 4th July holiday. It really saps my strength too.

Hope you get feeling better soon Mike. Doctors sometimes just don't know what's wrong. Good doctors do most of the time.

In my case my doctor knew exactly what was wrong with me 2 weeks ago. I got bit in bed by a brown recluse. Bit twice actually. He told me to come back if the skin breaks open or it becomes infected. Activated charcoal poultice and stun gun shocks kept necrosis from happening but I was sicker than $%*! for 10 days. All good now.

I'm laid up here also, I came back from San Diego, Ca. and got a bad sore throat, fever and a headache and a really bad, deep cough. My Dr. ruled out Covid yesterday, I'm on a 10 day run of something called Amoxy-Cav. and Teslan Pearls.

Since Pete is here, I am going to order a green JR Propo transmitter.

If you want to get his goat order it with a Saito 1.25!

Hey Dave,

Sounds like a rough trip there! Sure hope you shake that bug soon. Quite a spiffy transmitter there too. That transmitter is a good match for my Norwegian Princess' lawn mower!
No stinky mowers here..... or airplanes.

All of the yard equipment here is either powered by the Norwegian or batteries. No going back now

There is some weird cold bug going around, we all had it here too. Flu like, but not the flu, cold like but not a cold. And NOT the Vid either. I finally was able to get up this morning and not hack up a lung.

In the old days medical research invented cures; now they invent diseases.

Anything that helps in treatment of diseases gets outlawed,

Cannot argue that one bit.

Was just watching a video on the Lake Mead B-29. At the time of the video in 2018, it was reported to be in 200' of water. Wont be much longer until you can walk to it.

Or ignored. Like the stun gun I used to neutralize the Brown Recluse venom. Third world nations were using high tension spark plug leads and a ground wire to zap insect and snake venom for decades before stun guns came out. The doctors poo poo the whole idea because neither they or big pharma can make a dollar that way. Pfffft.

That thing would be loud. Bruce Tharpe holds, or did hold a fly in for the Pulse Jets down near Las Vegas. I currently have a Saito 125-a that has been CH'd.

Dave,
This is a Saito FG-20 , one of two that the owner had given up on.
It got "CH'd" and reverted back from gaspoline to methanol fuel. Now runs super.

Laughing my head off at your colour choice of transmitter Dave, does this mean the lime green Harley will be sneaking into
the background of your engine photos once more?? I hope it's in focus, not
Hope everyone here feels better soon. Mike hope being sick is not hindering the pink pete in poke with the FA45? have you flown it. It's our winter down under but not too cold, days are around 20c. Last summer I was down in Esperance, normally known for it's mild summer weather, but last summer was a bit freaky. Massive bush fires and an unusual easterly wind for days blowing hot desert air into town. First day there it hit 47c on the mercury gauge at the caravan park and a near personal tragedy, I was down to my last ice cold Emu Export on that day. Nectar of the God's at sustaining life in those temps.
ps Lonnie, what's a brown Recluse?

Pete, its a Pink FA-65 on the Pink N Poke. I haven't flown it or anything else yet. My flying buddy and I started to go once but the field was too storm damaged and muddy. Since then he has either been in the hospital, or I have been sick, or it has been to dang hot. Now I have some hanger rash on the Pink I need to get fixed, dropped something and punched a hole thru the horizontal stab. Some days its just not worth chewing your way thru the straps!

Tomorrow I can play, as an experiment I placed my finger over the exhaust outlet, with the throttle wide open and six flips I got 1.1 psi and it held for several minutes.

The set up.

[reply to 52571]
Thanks for that... I have an old Saito 100 that I might put into a Balsa USA Taube (because it needs lots of nose weight). Maybe a CH Ignition might be a good idea for that if I am going to be needing additional weight in the nose anyway. I might look into that...

Beyond the fun factor, it improves fuel economy by about 10%, that must be credited to Gary, I've never really tested it myself.
