wow, it's Wednesday, it's Wednesday the first day of March. I am unbelievably happy. my granddaughter is coming. I told her to wait till March! to wait 9+ months is a long time. and 4 weeks ago the Dr said she should be here a week or 2 earlier, so I was just a bit worried about that LOL. it's special to me because March is my month. and my Daught's oldest was born in March too. this new one is my Son's.
our woman friends tell me I can't call her "Jim" LOL. and my wife tells me I can't call her "Shugar Packet". so I will call her "Shugar Pie". I call the other 2 "Babydoll" and the younger one "Cupcake".
my Son's wife tells me ALL Filipino girls want their first baby at 20. and for her 20 was 6 years ago. she is on cloud 11. I have never seen her happier. she laughed when I said I will call her "Jim". and then laughed when I said "Shugar Packet". I think she liked "Shugar Packet. I'll have to ask her about that. LOL.
Woo-Hoo!

Something handy from Old School Model Works.
A definite git for me. I just ordered four of these.
And a package of four of these.

In my case, re the Robin 80, they would mount in the place of these square posts.
I haven't done this yet, I'll show and tell when the servo mounts get here. I have the left wing 90% done, the fuse is next.

O/K. On what I hope is the final stretch on the 125 powered Pitts Python build.
My standard prop for this engine is the 16/8 2-blade and will likely be doing the maiden and first few flights with a wooden club sans cowl.
Once those are out of the way and confirmed enough power, looks may be better swinging a 3-blade and wanted to hear what others thought would be the best combi. I had a large chord Graupner bolted on the front of Rare Bear, but that one had a huge spinner for scale appearances and was not intended to hover either.

This Master Airscrew 15 x 7 3-blade would be a match for the 16 x 6. 7.94 mm hole.

What does it weigh all up?
Are you wanting to fly full on 3D, or sport fly and hover once in a while?
On 15% nitro an FA125 will make 14-15 lbs static thrust propped with a 16x6 or 17x4. Approx 13 lbs static thrust using a 16x8. Enough to hover a 12 lb plane at near full throttle.
An FA150 or DLE 20 would allow for fairly aggresive 3D manuevers. An FA180 or DLE30 would turn it into an animal.

I sold my 150 to my friend I taught to fly a while ago and if went looking for another would be gas conversion. Used to preorder and pick up fuel at the Toledo Show every spring, but that is no longer an option, so watching my consumption carefully for now..
I did trade an OS 120 sitting in spares for a DLE 30, the engine recommended in the manual. Would be my first gasser with all the related changes to the fuel system, etc. Would have to keep it in the trailer due to the fact wife hates the smell.
The other option would be to swap this 125 into the G/P WACO since it worked so nicely with the Pica version of the same scale and does not really need more power for realistic scale maneuvers. The OS Gemini 160 twin I built up from two complete wrecks may produce the pull I need, but until I solve some exhaust produced mixture issues, may not have the throttle response to make aeros as snappy as intended.
After wearing out the first with well north of 300 flights, I'm on my second 100 powered G/P Super 'Bolt and worked hard to keep the weight down on that one, as well. With a 13/8 3-blade MA prop it would hang all day if not tending to fall off, (despite the addition of an Aura 8 stab system to help in that and the very strong cross-coupling).
ps. As the Gemini and RCV engines that have flowed across my table can attend, I like the mechanical challenges of learning obscure, (rare) or unusual tech, but you may be able to tell the 100 and 125 are my faves. Well over half dozen of each, (think I need to update my profile).

Your wife is right
Regarding the model aircraft fuel:
Come on over the bridge, I can set you up.
Meet you at The Prop Shop.
The fuel I use is blended here at home. 14% nitromethane and 12% sin-thetic "oil" / 2% castor oil. Comes out around $15 USD average per gallon.
