Say Pedro,

Little doubt it is a lot more fun to gather up new engines than it was to lose them.

Good news on the tower too. What type beam did you settle with? Should be able to chat nicely on 40m with just a simple wire antenna. I work Texas regularly in the evening with just 100 Watts.
You know, Lonnie is also right smack in that path. I bet we could have some very fine chats.

Gary, the tower is up. I'm waiting for the HF antenna to be delivered in 2 weeks.
Not that I am aware of. The big block airbleed carb was exclusive to the Fathead AFAIK. FA-120 carbs are interchangeable so someone may have "upgraded" the carb on your 120 DP. Best of both worlds!

Gary., I bought a Mosley 4 element that will work every band 6 through 20 meters. They build them as they are ordered, the total wait time is 2 months. I will get up a delta loop for 40 and another for 75/80.

Lonnie, I can't figure this one out on the dual plug 120 engines. Someone could have swapped the carbs on one. It will be a couple of months before I can test it. I still have to build a new engine test stand.

Do any of you knowledgeable gents know who made this nose gear, it is apparently no longer available. A friend has converted a Hangar 9 Ultra Stick 30cc to trike. His current nose gear is wimpy I'm sending him this one.

I found it in my own brain, it was made by Fults, the only ones available are at Ebay and few unheard of hobby shops.

So true, he has a single strut on it now and it flexes like spaghetti, this one won't. It has an Italian color scheme, it looks pretty cool. Powered by a DLE 20. Cool look, terrible sound.

Lonnie, I found this to be an interesting watch, I'd never seen anything like it before: https://snapwidget.com/v/ib/17993284.../?src=0X08OJ4X

I know what you mean
Probably doesn't smell all that good either

The gear should help a bunch.
Any progress on the Robin Hood?

Speaking of bend-o-matic landing gear, I finally got a chance to fly this summer. It wasn't one of my birds unfortunately, a 60 size TF Gold Edition Corsair I maidened for a friend. Wow, the factory supplied fixed wire mains are really too thin. Even though the rollout was a bit squirrelly the flight went off without a hitch but full left rudder couldn't keep it out of the right-hand ditch upon landing. The right main was bent toward the fuse so bad it just kept turning to the right and broke the prop. I mentioned to the owner/builder that it seemed aweful flimsy before maiden but he insisted it would be fine. He's currently after a set of Eflite electric retracts as we speak. This seems odd to me, that TF would provide such marginal wire struts.

I DID have fun.......I really miss flying when I want to but the Lord has other plans for me right now.

If the plastic doesn't hold up let me know. Somewhere in my stash I have one of the old single wire nose gear with a cast aluminum mount.

Thanks Okey, that is not the correct bearing block, Franco is on his own there, believe it or not I have an even heavier duty one with .25" shaft.

Gary the Robin 25, Robin Hood 80 and the Minuette are all three nearly ready to cover. I borrowed the servos from the RH 80 and put them my green LT 40 so I can fly something this week. Geri had her right knee replaced yesterday my flying hinges on her care needs for a few days.

Ever since I set the RH 80 with the Saito 125a it has been rubbing me the wrong. I wanted the 100 on it, I didn't realize that the 100 would sit on there with no changes, even my home made throttle extension lines up perfectly.

Not too late to change your mind
Those 125s are great engines, but if the 100 happens to fit this plane better.......

DANG! Leadfest!

I had a plane like that. Ended up opening the fuse and burying the lead aft as far as possible. It took less lead doing that vs on the horz stab and put it out of site.

Doesn't look like there's room for that on your model.

Yikes

Looks like a lot of room to move that engine aft as well!

Next time you stop by I will show you some of my machined to fit, brass tailwheel brackets.

Lonnie, you and I had quite a discussion concerning screw drivers the other day, I don't have a small screw driver that will reach the low speed screw through my home made throttle extension, I'm hoping one of these Wiha's will do it.

I ran the hardly broken in Saito 125a

Saito 125-a
Prop====MA 14 x 7 three blade
Fuel Wildcat 10% with 18% 80/20 blend. the last I have.
Ignition==CHI set at 32 degrees btdc, 7.2 volt battery
Max rm===============9,330
Idle=======super smooth 1,818.
Exhaust=======stock

As run above

Saito 125 @ 8,200, no smoke

Saito 125 @ full blatt, one click leaner and it slowed about 50 rpm.

Nice job Dave!

A great combination. CDI / Methanol.
I have the "perfect" plane for it.
How about a Dragonlady?

Had one of these with the methanol inspired Saito 125. A perfect match

Have s new old stock Dragonlady, factory built and ready to cover,

For narrow shafted screwdrivers the Wiha brand is a lot of bang for the buck.
