FHS in one of the Carolina's (US) used to sell pure castor, as did Sig. I would give them a try. If you can, buy the products through a hobbyshop once you find out they are still being offered by the first two names. It will save you a few bucks and it will help keep your shop open. I can't believe I said that! <G>

Anybody have any thoughts on running a 14-7 three blade prop on a 1.00? I had a 13-8 on a .91 seemed to run at about 9000 rpm. I am still breaking in the 1.00 so I have not attempted it. Just thought it might look a little better on the P-40 it's going in. If it makes any difference I'm at altitude.

Why not try a 14x8? I know quite a few folks using that prop with the 100 with good results. I'm not certain of any differences you might expect due to your high altitude.

i have a funtana s90 that i haven't flown in a while. there was one at the field today w/a saito 120 w/16x6 apc. he was getting about 9200-9300 rpm. it will hover at just over 1/2 throttle. it seemed to fly it very well and responsive, plenty of verticle and as fast as you want to fly. the engine i had on mine is os 120 III w/pump, sent in for repair service, for the second time (won't richen) they didn't test run it and still not right. the noise requirements at our field won't allow a 150 or 180 on the right prop. my question is; i have read everything i can find on the 125 and there is no way it seems to have as much power as the 120. M Mcconville chimed in on a showtime thread; 125 spins a 16x6 lower than 9k and says the 16x4 spools up faster and a better choice. obviously the 125 is much lighter (about 9 ounces), but would it be a good choice for my funtana s90 (30% heli if necessary)? so, is it possible to run the 16x6 near 9k? also, is the vibration excessive? my .82 is still breaking in, i realize i still need to lean the ls, hopefully that will smooth it out (i live in a town house, not easy to set up a test stand here). i had a bad experience w/a ys, i'd rather not go that way again. also w/the 125, are there any benefits w/the GK?
any advice here?

JB, the Golden Knight is just pretty, no other difference, I'll have to search around here and see if I've run my 1.25 on a 16x6. I don't think I have an APC 16x6 but I might have a Mejzlick, PowerPoint, Cleveland Cyclonic or MA Classic. You can look outside and see I won't be running it today.

On the .82, or any other Saito for that matter, just go ahead and lean the LS needle to the best idle and transition, no need to wait.

jb86, the Funtana 90 need a lot of power and the 120 or 125 is just barely big enough. The 150/180 is much better. The 120 will hover the plane buy not by that much unless you are useing the 30% nitro. I have a Super Tiger 2300 on mine and it is a good choice for the price, but I miss the Saito instant power. The 2300 has plenty of power, don't get me wrong, but it the classic two stroke power, not the Saito instant power that makes the Saitos so fun to fly.

unfortunately, there aren't many 2 strokes over .40 that will meet the 94 db requirements (i'd love to have the simplicity of a 2 stroke for it). my field allows 96 db for 4 strokes, i don't see myself going anywhere else anytime soon, so i have to meet that. the 150 w/3 blade 14x8 (as i recall) will meet (not a 3d prop for it), but no bigger, forget the 180. i have seen the saito 120 on a funtana, i'd be happy w/it's performance, spool up is good, hovers at just over 1/2 throttle. but from what i've read, i don't see how the 125 has as much power as the 120, but the 9 ounce savings is a big benefit. i don't expect to see my os 120 III w/pump for another 2 weeks, i'd like to try it w/the 16x6. but i'd really like to fly it sooner.

regardless of how much hp saito claims, just what will the 125 spin a 16x6 apc? accordingly to a thread w/m mcconville, he states the 16x6 won't provide 9k and spools up too slow (as i said before i saw a 120 turning almost 9300 and flew quite well), and the 16x4 is a better choice for 3d. i flew the a/c w/os 120/pump w/16x4w @9900. absolute dog, way too slow, and no verticle, at full speed, to verticle would drop out in maybe 50'. the saito 150 or 180 won't meet my filed's DB requirements. the only choice i had left for this a/c is the ys 110 w/16x6 apc.

I think you took my comparisons in the wrong way. I only pointed out the slight increase in power with the 1.25 according to Saito. I don't know the RPMs of a 125 turning a 16x6. I have a 15x6 on mine now and am not finished breaking it in. Are you sure the 16x6 is the only prop that will do it for your Funtana 90?

I like the 16x4 wide on my f-90 when using the 125. I last ran a 16x6 apc in 97 degree houston heat, it didnt have the best spoolup. I was using PM 20/20 blend.

I seemed to get better performance with the standard fuel blends though. Havent tried regular fuel blends on the 125 yet.
