It's about a 3 minute video of my Saito .90 triple, I've tried MP1, MP3, MP4 and Windows Media NTCS, nothing works.

Everything I've tried RCU is unsupported. You would think it would say what is required.

Thankyou Gents, the quality in that video is very disappointing compared to what it is here on my PC, I created an MP2 and MP4 version, they are like High Def. TV. I'm a 64 year old learnin guy.

Very enjoyable video clip Hobbsy - well done [8D]. You have such a diverse range of engines, I hope there are more videos on the way.

Whoopee!!! Got my new Saito 91. It's going into a BTE Venture 60.

What would be a good reliable engine mount to use with the 91?

Thanks
Larry

I've had great success with the Great Planes Adjustable Mounts, they are long and work well with fourstrokes. I had a Saito .72 on my first Venture 60.

Birman,

A second to Hobbsy's endorsement of the adjustable mounts. I use Ernst adjustables. It is hard to be certain that you are not building in a little left or right thrust with a non-adjustable mount if the beam spacing is not spot on. Probably the only truer mount would be one of the aluminum mounts that Saito sells specifically for your .91.

I had a BTE Venture with a Saito .82 and flew it a LOT. Lost it recently to a Loss-of-RF-Link accident. They are very nice planes; a little floaty on final (you can slow them down to a walk to land) and do not roll as axially as an EDGEEXTRAYAKGILESETC. But, they are really pretty and fly pleasantly..a very nice sport airplane.

The .82 was amply powerful, not quite unlimited vertical but enough to do a passable humpty-bump and big, beautiful loops. I have one of Bruce's Flyin Kings with a Saito .91. The .91 seems to be noticeably more powerful than the .82. Bruce cautions that Ventures tend to come out nose-heavy. I had to put the batteries forward of the servos to balance mine with the .82. Your .91 may work out with the batteries aft of the servos.

There is a spare Venture in my garage waiting for a warm weekend. It has a .82 GK on it......can't wait! In fact, I may have to build another one.

Enjoy your .91 and your Venture. They are both nice gear. The guys at the field where I fly said they had never seen such a nice ARF and were stunned that it was an airplane from a kit.

Rimcnii, thanks for all the helpful information. I'm really stoked over the Saito 91 and Venture. Can hardly wait for spring time now.

Hobbsy: Virtually every video host degrades the videos when they are uploaded. This is to make it easier for people with slow connections to be able to download them. I have even uploaded 80MB videos, hoping that they would come across nice and clean, and after the big upload the host has auto degraded it to the point an 8 MB would have sufficed. The only way around that, is to have your own server. Then, you run into bandwidth usage fees. As freeloaders, we just can't win.

On Topic: I have uploaded a couple Saito vids to RCU Vidoes.

Here is a Video of one of my Saito .30s with a Cline regulator.

I heard this mysterious whirring sound and I thought, oh no, I'm losing my first ever Saito bearing. As I listened closer it turned out to be the vent tube gurgling doing a perfect imitation of bad whirring bearing.

That's for sure, I had one of those plastic clevis' that comes in an ARF, it finally broke then the fuel line let go gradually. The whole thing took less than 3 seconds, luckily the engine landed on the board you can partly see. Now we know that a Saito .30 can pull itself verticle.
