I think Saito is just kidding about that... Friend has a 1.25 and I have a couple 1.20's... The 1.20's will swing a bigger prop faster then the 1.25.. It appears the 1.20 has bigger valves etc then the 1.25 ... Not sure is this can be construed as more power or not

From what I have been reading here, a 15x7 or 15x6 would be a good prop on the Saito 1.25. The Saito will be mounted on the H9 P47.

Yes, please add me to the Sah-ee-toe club roster. I'm a relative newby--been at RCing going on 12 months. Have an LT-40 trainer w/TT.46, a Lanier ProTwister w/TT.46, and am just starting to build a SIG HOG Bipe. Bought a used Saito 100 for it from a local club member of bransonrc.org. Do you suppose there would be any problem if I used heli 30% nitro fuel in the Saito? Planning to use a 15x6 MA prop--not interested in speed.

i saw a funtana s90 w/saito 120 gk, not even broken in (one season old), turning apc 16x6, 30% nitro, about 9300 (i really think it was more). he said it was over 9k w/15%. plenty of power and speed. there is no way that the 125 has as much power as the 120. mike mc conville wrote that the 125 should have a16x4w on the funtana 100 for best flying. the 16x4w is too slow and not enough bite. the 125 turns a 16x4w at the same rpm as the 120 turns a 16x6

I have a Saito 100 in a H9 P47-60 with a APC 14x8, I think you can easily go for a 15x8 prop on a Saito 125a. I also use Wildcat 15% fuel. Its fun to have a little more speed on this plane...as long as you get around 9000-9500 rpm your fine, you can also take a temp after 5 min full power

I recently purchased a 2nd hand Saito 65. I am wondering it's year of production. It has what appears to be a "U" on the top of the right hand mounting bearer & a smaller <HH> on the bottom of the same bearer. Any ideas? [:-]

I don't think it is very old? They started out with "A". I have a "U" and it was bought new in 2001. It could have been in the store a while?

I have a used 150 Saito that runs great and will be going in my Showtime 3D. The question is, how can I tell whether it is the older high compression version or the newer one that can be run on slightly higher Nitro fuel?

The high compression one was introduced at first.

There is a letter stamped on top of the right mounting lug if the crankcase hasn't been replaced.

A letter "A" will almost assure you that it is high compression.

What do you feel is a target rpm when propping the FA100 for scale flying? If you go too big you load up the engine, too small and you have the oposite. I have always tried to shoot for the low 9's. This is based on the advice I was given. Give me your thoughts, please.

I prop most Saitos for the mid nines except the .50 down to the .30, and the 2.20 for the low eights. For example, Saito .30/Graupner 10x5, Saito .82/APC 14x6, Saito .62a/Bolly 13.5x6, inverted Saito .80/APC 14x6, etc.

I see from the photo I'm pretty much on target running 15%. My apologies. Earlier I thought you said 15x8. The graupner seems to have a little more bite than the APC. There are some guys in our club that have a tendency to over prop and run their engines in the mid to upper 8's. Thanks for your input.

I just ordered an APC 15x6 and an APC 14x8 for the 1.00 so I can test some more using 15% fuel. My old 1.50 used to be on a Hangar 9 Cap 232 and I ran a 16x8 three blade with 1/2 inch clipped from the tips, it turned about 8,400 and never complained.

i dont think running your 100 at mid to high eights is overpropping RC, i actually prop mine for 8800 to 9200, but 86 or so is not going to hurt anything IMO
