I put the 40 minutes on the Saito82 then installed in a 4*40 inverted. Took off like a home sick angel. Still running rich on bottom and top end. At full throttle and 13x7 APC, it was disappearing in our smoke filled sky in short order. Talk about throttle response! Got two flights in tonight, mostly at lower throttle settings. Didn't take much throttle to fly. Both flights were ~ 12 minutes using about 2/3rd's of a 10 oz tank. It is running a bit rough, hope it smooths out with time and tuning. My Saito 65 is super smooth, but lacks the grunt that this 82 has. Hope to get it out again tomorrow.

I put 3 more flights on the 4*40. It had a Saito 45 prior to the 82, huge difference and still easy to land. The 82 will be going in another plane, the 4* is just for break in. I wouldn't say it is too much, just different. The 4* has had Magnum 52 4-stroke, TT46, ST51, Saito 82 & 45. The 82 will be going in a Midwest 40 size Zero and prop it for more speed, maybe 12x9.

Slimline makes a nice one..
You can get them from Chief Aircraft for about 60 bucks for a side mount... You do need to plug one pipe to keep the pressure up for the tank if you are using muffler pressure...
Good Luck,
Hibrass

Hey guys,
I want to mount my tank on the CG, and was wondering what pump to use with my new 1.25.
I was looking at the perry pumps on towers website, but don't know what one would be best.
Also, how reliable are these external pumps? I never used one before. I've only had the pumps that are built in to my YS engines.
Thanks,
Chris

You could use a Cline or Iron Bay regulator. They work extremely well and are easy to set up and use.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Are there any other companies which makes the pitts muffler for a saito 125, apart from Slimline?
Also, what exact one fits the Saito 125?
I only see the one's for a Saito 100 or Saito 120-150...
Thanks

Jonathan, take a look at this, this is a very compact muffler with a great sound that sounds great in a warbird or any plane for that matter.

Hobbsy's link didn't list the one for a Saito 1.25. This link has the 1.25 muffler listed. http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemid=313205

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
thanks for the link, but what i really wanted was a Pitts style muffler.
So are there any other pitts style muffer for a saito 125?
Also, is the exhaust thread on a saito 125 the same as a saito 120?
Thanks anyway
Jonathan

I just got a Hangar 9 Cub with a Saito 65 on it. I badly need some tips on running and tuning. Most of all I'd like to know the chracteristics of rich and lean on four strokes. Email me if you can, I'd be grateful for any help!

Hi guys,
I have a Saito 180 and while making a high needle valve extension, I seemed to have lost the set screw for needle valve. Can anyone tell me what size it is so I can find a replacement? I'd appreciate all your help.
Thanks

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Ferocious Frankie, I just pulled the set screw from my .82. Assuming they are the same, the size is 3mm. It looks like the pitch is .5mm. A course threaded 3mm is .6mm so it's hard to tell for sure with calipers. It looked like 1mm covered two pitches perfectly. The back plate screw on an .82 is 3mm-.5 so if it's the same size on a 1.80, you might try threading it into the hole to see if it is that thread size.
