Just an update. Last night changed the throttle clevis from a metal one to a plastic one, put more foam around the receiver, and replaced the small lead plugged into the Rx that the aileron servos plug into. Early tests on the ground showed no movement of the ailerons at full throttle. It will go up this weekend for a final test. thanks to everyone that responded.

Can anyone tell me the distance from the back of the Saito Engine Mount and the front of the drive flange on the Saito .91?

I've bought one Saito mount before and was unable to use it. Hate to spend another 27 dollars for possibly no reason...

G'day Kmot - what prop did you use? It is a while since I ran it and I don't remember what I used. Mind you, the Kadet is now about 16 years old and has "put on a bit of weight" over the years. I managed one rather iffy flight but on my next attempt it got o about 20 feet and I could not get it to climb any more and eventually it more or less fell out of the air - a sort of very low speed high speed stall. The plane has recently been rebuilt (again) and now has an ASP 52 for motive power. But I would still like to find a home for the old 45. Sadly, no one is importing Sig stuff into Australia and with the recent 30% tumble in the value of our currency, I don't see it happening for quite a while. I would love a couple of different Rascals. A friend has the big one with a Saito 180 in it. Too much really but he likes it. Thanks

G'day Mike, I am not positive but I think in this video here it was using a Top Flite 12x4 and it also had a Samsung SC-X210L camcorder and remote camera stuffed inside the cockpit. Not to mention a complete onboard glow system I made that includes a sub-c cell, battery holder, extra wires, etc. So the .45 has always seemed stout to me. Oh yeah! I almost forgot. It originally powered a Goldberg Anniversary Cub. Flew slow, and rather scale I would say.

I later flew the Rascal with the repaired, and clipped wings, on a Rev-Up 11x5. The last time I flew this Rascal I ran out of fuel on a take-off and ripped the gear out in a plowed field. I'm thinking of going to a prop with even more pitch.

G'day It could be that I did not have enough prop on it. I think I may have had a 10.5 x 5 Bolly. That is what I used to use on my old OS FS40. Thanks for the info. Will try some larger props. Mike.

Maybe soon, I'll still need to cut some paper gaskets for the engine as the pushrods and their tubes have to come out (one disadvantage against OS and clones).

A quick ***** about blind nuts and the bolts we get served here re mounting my 82 in the dcaff.Great planes quality is bloody awfull.I've had my hand on my tool(s) all my life and they are hard to start when you can SEE them,let alone try and get the ying and yang going while doing it blind...bad finish re galv,no starter sleeve etc and if you can start one of them in the thread then maintaining saito engines should be a breeze

LOL I'd be more worried 'bout there claws dude! Possies over here will scratch the b geez az outta ya... Hardy critters too, I pumped a full mag from my 10/22 into one and it still ran off. The only draw back is that you have to catch them before you can shoot them.
The real up and presonal approach with it thrashing around next to your john boat can raise a hair or too on your neck .

Hi Bill, I have a 120 and a 150. The 120 is the old one and when the bearings junked, I was given a complete new crankcase and was told to just put my old jug on it. I thought about getting a new cam gear but went with the old one instead. Put a new ring in it and it started right up but cannot get the power out of it yet. How long will it have to run to seat the new ring? There is some noise in it at idle and I'm not sure if it is the cam gear or not. Also just put a new ring in the 150 and have not started it yet so same question on it seating and building up compression. Thanks, Bob Gentz

The best place is in the main chamber with the nipple 90 degrees to exhaust flow. Otherwise, all sorts of crap will flow into the nipple.

G'day Here in Australia, the 56 is a lot cheaper. I suspect your UK importer got a good price on a large lot of the 62 but still has some 56s from a previous dearer order. I have a couple of 56s and one 62. I have two Kadet Seniors - one has a 56, the other has the 62. The 62 is noticeably more powerful in these more or less identical planes. Both are very easy to start and now that they have some running (the 56 has a lot and the 62 about an hour) they are easy to tune. Hand starting is easy with both and they don't have any bad habits. I run 10% nitro, 5% castor, 15% synthetic commercial fuel. I'd happily recommend either but the extra power from the 62 is nice.

I have the 82 and 125 Saitos and love them.
Was looking for a 52 to 70 four stroke for a Decathlon scale

The Saito 62A was only slightly more costly than an SC70FS
i.e. Saito 62A (£120) SC70 (£109)

The Saito 56A came up as £139

The Horizon US site also has the 62A cheaper than the 56A

Was just wondering WHY!

Hi again Bill, and thanks for the response to my question about seating the new rings on my Saitos. After reading thru the earlier posts, I'm thinking I don't have the valve clearance close enough on the 120. It's at .004, should it be down to .002 or right on zero to quiet the hammering and increase the power? Thanks again, Bob Gentz
