All I know is that the Saito engines have been coming from the factory this way for some time now. The engine in the picture was not made before 2001. It appears to have a lot of time on it but I also know the picture is somewhere around 5 years old.

The all aluminum non bushed rods hold up real well and there are several manufacturers using the high silicon aluminum rods.

I am not apossed to running the 220 but i am already buying nitro buy the case byron 30% seems to do the trick for me. What is the fuel consompstion of this motor and what size tank do you have. This decathlon looks to be a great flyer and i want to get more than 9 minutes air time.

and have you tried an old bsa or trumpy single..

Yes, tried both of them.

I have been kicked by two BSA singles, several horses, and two rodeo bulls. The BSA was the most vicious by a wide margin.

I am about to get my red seal in carpentry and for a graduation gift my wife is letting me get the 166cm/65 3/8th" version of the Cosmic Wind from these guys. http://www.modellbau-kuhlmann.de/cosmic_wind.htm
I am planning a Saito 300. Is there anyone out there with any thoughts or input about this plane/motor combo? Also any input about the 300 would be great. Am about to buy the motor. Then I have to come up with 600 Euro's + shipping for the plane.
Apparently there is an english version to this site but I haven' found it.

Hey Guys, I think I just got the buy of a lifetime. Brand NIB Saito100, Hanger 9 Miss America P51, 5 Futaba 3004 servo's, 1 Futaba S138G retract servo, Alum Spinner, and misc. other stuff, all NIB, boxes still sealed $200.
I couldn't get my money out my walet fast enough. Had several other good deals also. He hadn't flown in about 4 years and wife told him to clean out garage.

Happens all the time now that arfs are so common. Guy gets one as a present or decides he always wanted to fly a model airplne, buys all the stuff and loses interest. It's the guys that build that tend to stay in the hobby for a long time. My father built his first model airplane in 1929 and is still doing it. His first R/C plane was in 1938. I built my first model airplane (hand launched glider) in 1954 and first R/C airplane in 1962. Still going strong. Never quit even during a 30 year Navy career.

Seems like everyone today demands instant gratification and since it was so easy to start with lose interest in a hurry.

Hey everyone. I was tuning my 125 for a new prop size (17.x4w) and ran into a couple of things I hadn't seen before in my limited experience/reading and was hoping to see if these behaviors are is normal.

First, while setting the HSN, I did the typical slow leaning to top RPM. I got to 9300ish, but after 5-10 seconds the engine would slow to 8800ish. I watched it do this a couple times and it made me nervous about overheating. I backed it down to 9000, and it seems happy there. What does it mean when the RPM peaks, then slowly degrades?

Next, while stting the LSN, I again did the slow leaning until it died in transition, then backed it out 1/8 turn. The problem was the idle seems inconsistant and unreliable. I ended up turning it back out 1/2 turn before I could find a nice balance between decent idle and decent transition. I was wondering about this one because it was so far away from the "died during transition to WOT" position. Does that sound normal?

Now the part that may complicate things. Here's my setup:
1.25 with 17x4w APC/Tru-turn spinner
Perry VP30 Pump setup per instructions with the addition of an overflow line (no check valve)

I have to add a few oz's of weight to the front of my twist 150 saito 180 combo..I have already moved the 2000 mah battery under the tank.. I am wondering if any of you can recomend a weighted prop hub?

Question regarding a Saito 125.

I am thinking of using a flexible muffler for the 125.

The above 14mm pipe with fuel tank pressure tap is the only one I found. I really don’t want to cut up my cowl for the muffler so I was thinking of the flexible pipe. I read where securing it from flexing is important so fatigue does not crack it. Do you have any other pointers or experience with one of these you could share?

Your engine is 13mm not 14mm

The flex pipe reduces power a little

here's the only one they have and you have to use the muffler on the end if you want pressure

There's other options, like the turbo muffler. With or without the 90º fitting, depending on the cleanest install for your application.
