Yes pull the plug and put some oil in there. It may have to set overnight? Be sure and flip the piston through compression many times to get the oil all around.

The engine may have a stuck valve or lifter and you can remove the valve covers to spot this.

The engine may have set around for several years? Was OK the last it was used but now it is not.

It doesn't have to be after run oil. It can be motor oil, ATF, 3-n-1, Fuel, or WD40 for this operation. You can put ARO when you get some.

It may not turn over if you fill it with fuel. It may be hydro locked.

I know this is a really noobish question, but I'm going to ask it anyway... Is it normal for the exhaust to get pretty tarnished looking under normal operation? I've run 6 tanks through a new engine gradually leaning it as I go and I'm hitting around where the engine should be now, but that exhaust is lookin pretty bronzed. I'm not letting her get too hot am I?

Thanks for the help!

Are you in a situation where you can run it? Do you have an electric starter?

I had 56 with no compression the other day. I put the starter to it and cranked it up. after the flight the engine felt normal.

Yours is doing a little something or it wouldn't have muffler pressure

While you have the valve covers off, make sure the push rods are in their valve adjust sockets and not pried against the edge of one and hold like the exhaust valve open.

Hi dave.If you are so modern as to accept fuel injection on v twins i''l own up and say the new buels sound awsome.Love to ride one a bit.

The 16 or 17 prop would be great re ground clearance

I'm thinking the starting point is 5 turns

Here's the owner's manual

http://www.horizonhobby.com/ProdInfo...der_Manual.pdf

" 4. Ensure that the high-speed needle valve (85) is opened (turned counterclockwise) five full turns."

Well I will leave you guys alone for a bit..Got the compression up but now my starter just don't have enough guts to turn it over..And I can not get it started with my chicken stick..I am sure I will be able to once I get it tuned..But for now I guess I need to order a new starter..That sucks to have to buy a new starter for just one motor..lol

it takes a Sullivan Dynatron and a good battery to turn a 180 over.

If you get the cylinder real juicy you can flip it backwards with the chick stick up against compression (not all the way through) and it should start forwards

I've been following this Forum for over a year and have found it very helpful. Hopefully you can help me again. I just bought a slightly used 150. Seems to run fine, BUT, the throttle arm is very "sticky" from 3/4 throttle to WOT. I also noticed that there is a missing screw that is slightly forward and above the throttle arm(throttle stop screw?). Is this screw needed? What causes the throttle to stick(hard to turn) above 3/4 throttle? The plane it was on took a very hard landing, in grass, and broke the motor mount. What should I look for? Thanks!!!

A fellow brought a Saito 80 with a throttle like this to me. Best I could figure was that the body was hit from behind and bent.

I put rubbing compound on the barrel and spun the barrel in the carb body to free it up,

There's no travel stop screw on my 150. Just a barrel retainer screw

Thanks, I will try that. It does not stick that bad, just enough to get my attention. As far as the screw, there is one in the opposite side(180 degrees)bottom, but not one one top.
