Horizon is having free shipping on orders over 120 dollars. Never seen that before. Might as well fill your order out with more goodies!

AircamperAce,

I Think W8YE is on the right track. I have had Saitos than ran wonderfully for years and then suddenly act like yours. It would took me a while to finally open up the mid-range needle to solve the problem. It kind of defies reason, but would solve the issue. Please let us know what you find out.

Well I think I got the deal of a lifetime on a used saito 80GK..I picked it up today at our swapmeet..There was no glow plug in it so I asked how much? He told me to make him an offer. I told him I did not want to price his stuff or hurt his feelings. He said I would not. I offered him 25.00 and he took it.. Brought it home put a plug in it and started it. Have not been able to tune or anything but it does run..I am now up to 1- Fa80..1-80GK...1-82

Jim, I'm at my daughters in W.Va., she has something called NetZero, I get visibly older waiting for a post to post.
I hope she is enjoying her present.

What does it feel like to be back in the good country? well except for the internet!

Bad day for some at the club today, dragonflys too.Big three or four inch jobbys and it's the mating seaon low level style which is why i ended up killing two of them. Was running my 82 at idle and bent over making a carb adjustment when out of the corner of my eye i see these two big dragonflys coming straight at my prop and before you know it a big whack and amazingly they get knocked away from the prop at a 45 degree angle and on their backs about two feet away, wiggled their legs and expired shortly after.Tragic as there was'nt a litigation laywer in sight. Can you imagine the courtroom questions as to who made the prop(on the dragonflys familys be-half) and engine and God forbid "what fool started the engine" when you knew well that endangered dragonflys where breeding?..please add your own thoughts

I purchased a set of 3 flex exhausts for my 450, from Horizon. The packages were marked with 450 part numbers, but none fit. The pipes look like they may be for the 170 radial.

Anybody else experience this problem ?

Not yet tom and can you direct us to a thread so we can hear it running please? as a flying friend has just bought a 325 and it sounds like a *****cat with flex pipes on it.The engine won't be up to much in his kit built 90 roughly inch fw190 and he's thinking about a 450 bark maybe..how much do those big jiggers drink per minute??

Hi, I just bought my first saito yesterday, an f1-91s, I got it used, but it looks and feels very close to being new. I have two questions, first off is there anything I should know about this thing in particular, it's going on my superkraft waco in place of my asp.61 fourstroke, so I know how to run and tune a fourstroke, also what prop should this swing on this plane, it's got a 51" top wing and a 45" bottom wing, flying weight is listed at 5.5-7 pounds, I have no idea what the thing actually weighs though...oh and I can't swing larger then a 13" do to clearance on take off and landings...so I was thinking 13x8, I looked for a 13x6-3blade but didn't find one...I want it to have pretty decent response as it's and aerobatic plane...oh and do you think it will climb vertical now, it wouldn't with the asp on it...

The 13 X 8 two blade or equivalent three blade would be the proper prop for you based on your ground clearance situation.

I'm sure it will climb well but it will not actually hover with those props

is there a prop that will hover it with this engine, not so much hover since I don't have enough aileron to stop it from torque rolling, but it's be nice if it could go straight up, I got spoiled flying electric 3D foamies.

I just purchased a Saito FA-91 four stroke on e bay but cannot get it to start. I have taken the carburetor apart and cleaned it up, Fuel is passing through all the venturies. Both tappets seem to be working . I have changed the glow plug and it does glow. The one strange thing is that there seems to be a back pressure on the intake port as well as some suction at different times of the stroke. I removed the carburetor and out my finger in the intake port. On one part of the stroke it was pushing against my finger and on another it was sucking it into the port. There is good back pressure on the exhaust port.

The intake valve is being held open for some reason?

The valve is stuck or the engine is out of time?

Kevin you don't say if it has ever coughed or fired a bit while you are trying to start it.If you support your lhs they will help you.

A quick post of the new rainbow. Can't wait to get the 30 in it

ps;yesterday at the field we had a massive wedgetail eagle soaring at about 500 and two of the braver club members flew up there to see what would happen. The eagle occasionally had a flap of his wings when they got a bit close and noisey, eventually he took exception and dived on this guys six, bloody funny to see him chicken out

That's great.

It's terrible that they force us to use electric models to have a place for our 30's

I got a good deal on a electric Telemaster 40 and it is an act of congress to get the electric motor mount and the battery box out of it. It would have been simple if they had left those lite ply parts in the box and had not epoxied them on.

It is going to get a Saito 50 GK

The are several Electric 25 ARF's on the market that are adaptable to glow.

I'm in the process of assembling the GP 25 size P-47 and plan to install one of my 30's. Anyone else doing something similar?
