This question was asked one page back but the answer was unclear to me. Does the slit in the spray bar go towards the atmosphere or engine?

Ok. I was wondering because when it's in that position the carb fuel inlet doesn't line up with the hole in the spray bar. There is a channel for fuel flow around the circumference but in the past I thought the spray bar hole should be directly under the fuel line nipple.

I'm pretty sure the Viton O-ring goes next to the head. My new gasket set and intake manifold did not come with that metal washer that goes next to the Viton ring. Is it necessary?

Thanks,

Phillip

Found it in my Saito parts bin. It is included with the engine gasket set.

Jim, my .62 is a bit unusual in that it has a black washer on the intake O-ring and the .40a has a rubber sleeve around the pipe which is cast aluminum.

I'll have to check my .30, I think it has a similar cast intake pipe but with an O-ring.

I've had a Saito 82A about 4 yrs. I decided to make a 82B out of it.

I bought
Back plate
Crankcase
Cam cover
Carb screw set
Cam pivot shaft
I had to steal a cam cover gasket from my Saito FG20 collection and I had to make a gasket for the back plate as Horizon doesn't have gaskets yet.

I made the back plate gasket from the cover flap of the package that the back plate came in. I cut the inside circle and slipped it over the back plate and then mounted the back plate and trimed off the outside. You need a gasket back there to keep the cam cover from rubbing on the crankshaft pin.

After getting it together I ran the engine on the test bench and it runs just as good as it did before I changed everything.

Jim, here's the .30 arrangement.

Jim et al, Lynda is back in the hospital, one of her kidneys stopped working and loaded her up with uric acid causing violent convulsions and near comotose. They got here awake yesterday but she is still very weak.

Oh, does he need to be Club Saito member before someone will give him rpms for the prop/engine combination he has? Just curious.

Thanks! Hoping it works well. It should look cool too (Ithink) as there's no cowl on the plane. Always liked the golden knights but don't see the point if you cover up the engine. I'll be using a gold spinner prop nut too.

So what's up with the club? What's involved ?

The club number gives a member certain endowed inalienable bragging rights?

Request a number if you own a Saito and BLW will be along to to give you the next number on his list.
