Hi guys, just curious on what air trap tanks are you using for a 250 - 300 newton turbine....
What is the best to your knowledge out there?

Thanks for your help...

And with telemetry.... https://www.intairco.net/intairco-it...s-connections/

Amazing quality and functionality - really good stuff

Jet model products air traps. Huge fittings on them and many different sizes.

Since this seems like a slogan competition, here:

The Intairco ITrap all the way Michel. I’m running them in my Mig with twin 140s and in the F16 with the 300. On the 300 I have two seperate 6 mil fuel lines with two clunks going from the centre tank into the trap, then single out of the trap into the pump. Plus the telemetry version is cool too.

MAP bubble traps are my only choice, less joints, lighter, bigger filter area than Intairco, we have been running a BF 300 on a twin tank HF MAP bubble and it works great.

How did most of us EVER survive using the old reliable BVM air trap ?
Its a third the price and less than a car payment or easy payment plans .
Oh ,no telemetry....
Ridiculous .

I started out making my own air traps with the automotive pleated paper filters. When I got lazy I went to the MAP units as they were basically the same thing. No problem so far with up to 210 engines.

I did the same thing on a twin I built, made both and were exactly like the MAPs for about 12$ per

Let me guess.
There was no need to finance $12.00 over 4 easy payments .

Me too. The best air traps are the ones I make myself.

Um not sure what your trying to say here guy, but I think your out of line. If you think spending hundreds on something like a bubble trap makes you or your jet better than your just ignorant, if I can make something that works just as good or better I will any day.

Got to put some kind of smiley face with that, its text on a forum hard to get sarcasm. I cant count the number of times people have taken my words wrong as well.

I just got my intairco, (non telemetry) very nice unit, but I sure do miss the GBR cats.
Whats the preferred mounting method for the intairco? Vertical or horizontal?

I'm using a JMP hi-flow on my Havoc. One thing I was not expecting was a lot of LARGE air bubbles from the trap for the first few minutes of running. The trap was full of fuel and I could clearly see the bubbles intermittently coming out when the engine was at high RPM. The engine (JetCentral Mammoth 250), would "pop" with most of the bubbles but also flammed out once or twice. After re-start and several minutes of running, the bubbles finally quit and the trap has worked fine since.

Just saying that with the old BVM style traps the advise was to "soak" new ones with fuel for a period of time to avoid bubbles. I didn't know you had to do that with these newer ones.

Michel,

I'll put a plug in for the CAT's and I like BV's new bigger and badder UAT. And we all know you know what you're doing, so to mirror FalconWings, a well plumbed, well largely fitted fuel system is the most important part of any build, (I think of the fuel system as the cardiovascular system of your jet!) and especially with today's monster turbines.

FWIW, I'm running a big CAT with a B300F.
