Gruss Gott, Robert, und willkommen. Now that we've exhausted my German, what sound system did you go with? We have a member named Rad who has done quite a bit with the Das Mikro. I have a couple myself, providing sound in the WC51 and soon in the WC64. But Rad has reached new heights, with lights and multiple sounds from the Das Mikro. He has a site with all the stuff on the Das Mikro, so hopefully he'll chime in and you can see what he has to offer.
I think you need ten posts to get full access, that's to help keep the spam out. You'd be amazed at the people who want to sell us the weirdest stuff. It will go by quickly and I'll be looking forward to photos of your Jeep.

Hello Crius,
thanks a lot for your warm welcome. Your German is excellent :-)
I read about the DasMikro and found it at Banggood for small money. Looking at it I found it very similar to the one called TBS micro from the German manufacturer Thomas Benedini. Even the programming seems identically. The only difference is the price. In the meantime Benedini has ceased to sell the TBS micro, but he used to ask around 70 Euro for it. Banggood sells it for something of 20 bucks.
My question here was if anyone has used it in the Willys and how it performed, Maybe with different speakers. I will take a look at Rads site, Thanks for that.
Actually I am building on my sixth quaterscale WWI warbird. All of them are electrically powerd and equipped with Benedini TBS mini. The amplifyers I use provide up to 50W audio power. That is really enough to simulate a Mercedes DIII engine or a Gnome rotary even in a distance of 100m. Now I will try to make the Willys sing his song.

In all my life I have NEVER seen the u.s. post office deliver ANYTHING on a Sunday. Until today.
The 1/16 scale Hasbro M3 37mm anti-tank gun.
I am well pleased with it so far. I'm going to paint and assemble and you guys already know there will be more video. Whether you want it or not. Bwahahahaha

This is just an example from ebay, and it looks like I got a pretty good deal. I see them as high as $140, plus shipping, and this one would be $95 delivered, the total on mine was $58.02 delivered so I think I did OK.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/GI-JOE-40TH...8AAOSwuAVcYu2J
Even at $95 I don't think it's too horrible a price, but the guy that wants $140 is bordering on being a greedy POS. But you guys know how cheap I am, if it was free I'd ask them to send a few bucks as well, just for something to do. Once I get it painted and assembled I'll be able to better estimate actual value. I think I'll be OK, and I believe it will hold up well. If anyone sees ROC trailer tires for sale please post me up a link. I guess I also need ammo boxes to throw in the back of the jeep.

I fully agree. I know Thomas Benedini for about 10 years now. His after sales service is great. Me and all my pals use his TBS mini in their scale WWI birds. I found out that the DasMikro is a clone after I ordered one from Banggood. I am far from sure but could it be possible that Thomas has sold the rights to the Chinese because the unit is discontinued at his site? Only guess. I will ask him next time.

It maybe not a good idea to post about off topic things, but maybe you are interested in what I do else in my workshop and on the field. See my HP at "e-flieger-rosstal.de"

rwalter - thanks I was going to ask for a link to your planes. I love WWI airplanes. Beautiful collection and really nice work thanks! You planes are like flying miniature museum pieces! You're working pilot for the Albatros is amazing!
I wish I could read German.
Best regards,
Bob

Crius wasn't the US WWII M3 37mm a falling block breech gun? From the photo you attached it appears they made it simulate an
interrupted thread locking breech?? Perhaps I'm not looking at it correctly..or perhaps there were different guns used.

Gun Jesus says that you are correct, Jerry:
I'd already pointed out to Gary that the blurb on the box about the gun being used in Northwest Europe was highly dubious, so any expectation of accuracy should probably be set to one side...

Hi all, Crius summomed here.
Yeah, well, the only new thing I did now is to set up both short and long beam lights in the same led, but triggering loads of lights and sounds I have been doing it since day one, lol.
Yep, the dasmikro mikro is an exact copy of the Benedini micro. The dasmikro mini is also an exact copy except the programmer port of the TBS mini. The dasmikro mini V2 is exactly the same as the dasmikro mini v1 but with different color and another programmer wire order. So far, the best version is the original Benedini mini V2 because it has way, way more memory for sounds and more watts for the speaker.
The chinese are using and distributing the original benedini software and sounds in an ilegal way and of course no doubt they pirated the hardware as well, so if you have the funds support the creator and get the board at the original place.
Said that and answering the guy who wondered if it is an OK board for the jeep, well, I would say as today there is nothing better for it. I don't know any aftermarket board that supports so many lights and sound functions in a such a small size. The flexibility it has, has not been matched... But of course for squeezing all the juice of it you need a decent programmable radio and spend some time understanding how it works. I wrote some tutorials on my website that helped people using it.
