I want the servo and linkage perpendicular to the hinge line. The servo cutout already is. The linkage hole on the horn is 11.5 mm from the edge of the servo case. This puts the horn near the edge of the installation block.

Supplied in the kit is a carbon fiber arm that screws onto a round Futaba servo wheel, just like the rudder arm. The linkage hole is about 22.5 mm from the center. I choose to use the Dubro heavy duty arms which also has a hole 22.5 mm from the center. I have had no issues with these in the past and it saves a little over 2g per arm compared to the supplied set up. And yes I know taking pictures of a black object on a gray towel was the not the best idea :)

On the TP packs the foam spacers usually can be removed with several pieces of tape at once to expose the lower level of tape over the wiring.

Usually just 1 or 2 pieces of tape need to be removed to expose one side of the inter connect. I usually remove the black wire first although I have done it the other way but there is a balancing wire attached to the red side. The metal tab will have to be carefully bent up out from between the 2 cells. Yellow tape wraps all the way around the tab.

Solder the end of the red interconnect to the tab vacated by the black interconnect. The other way works just as well soldering the free end of the black interconnect to the end vacated by the red wire. You will have a balance connector to deal with on that side though.

Re-tape the tab wrapping all the way around it and folding it back between the cells. I have always been able to use the tape that I have removed although having a fresh roll of this tape would help.

Apply new shrink wrap. I use shrink wrap that measures 95mm when flat and cut it about 1/2" longer than the battery on top and bottom.

For the rudder cable I use Berkley Steelon plastic coated wire fishing leader. 30 pound test. I have been using this for a while and have had no real issues with it. At the rear I choose a clevis with a screw pin.

My equipment tray is made from 1/8" CF Nomex honeycomb composite. I am not a real fan of this material as it is difficult to glue the edges on it but it worked OK for this purpose and is light and stiff. It is glued to the wing tube and will support the receiver, batteries and regulators.

My aileron servo connections are just like those for the elevator using modified charge connectors. Being able to crimp your own connectors allows you to make them the exact length that you need.

Everything is held in place with standard Velcro. The holes in the tray will be for female JST jacks to plug the batteries in. Still have to order my regulator / On/off switches. I run 2 350 mah packs for redundancy.

I always orient the connectors on both the ailerons and elevators with the signal wire forward. That way there is less chance of plugging your servo in backwards.

I used fiberglass to go over the joints at the front of the landing gear box. It will get additional support as I am going to attach the rear battery tray CF tube to the front of the box and tie in the battery tray.

I made the battery tray from 1/8" end grain balsa fiberglass composite panel. The initial rectangular piece was 43 gms. After making the cutouts it was down to 23.

With the tray just sitting on the front edge of the landing gear box the plane balanced at the rear of the wing tube. This works out well as the tray can be tied into the landing gear box structure.
