I added a small hole in the battery/control access plate to allow me to turn the tank on and off without have to repeatedly remove the access plate. On a “green” tank it would be far less noticeable.

This link split and broke prior. So I am reusing it for testing out a larger pin to see what happens. So far it has been holding perfectly. The Tamiya SS pins are really slick and once the split happens slid/pop out easily. The larger non SS pin does not seem to want to slip out as easily.

Both these tanks have had it done. Both have several hours of running on them and you can see wear the black has worn of just like a real tank would. You can also see that the black that is in the nooks and crannies deepens the overall look of the track.
