RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF

Hey Euro,
Gary says the covering is oracover. However, as you have noted, it does not have the white backing like the stock stuff does. I haven't found a perfect match but the Ultracoat Flame Red...

Gerry,
Do you have or are you going to have beefier cowls (& pants) for the 30cc size too?

RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF

WHOO HOO! I received the carbon spar tube for the stab on my 30 cc Gee Bee yesterday. It's all installed and I'm taking it to the field this afternoon!

Thanks Gerry!

RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF

And while we're asking questions, Gerry, are the stab spars on one of these containers you are referring to? You had said before that longer tubes were coming by Fedex.

Then you stated...

RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF

Here's something you guys with the 30cc versions need to check. The spar for the stab on my kit seems too short in my opinion (aproximately 8 5/8"). I've made Gerry aware of this and he is looking...

RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF

I finally got Gee Bee in the air today. Flies great although I think I'm a bit tail heavy. It dropped the tail quite a bit when I slowed for my landing approach. I was also WAY too wild on my...

RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF

How did you remove the wheel pants, the two leg welded construction would seem to require cutting the pants to get the struts out.

RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF

Gerry,
Got any help for those of us looking for the factory hard points? Can we measure from something? I'm talking about the 30cc version.
Thanks!

RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF

PC, I use a small vinyl cutter called a Sticka Cutter. These are fairly expensive for hobby use but I make some graphics for the local flyers too which helps offset the investment. Works very well...

RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF

If you haven't see one of these models here are a few pics of my 30cc. Beautiful plane!

These are not the factory graphics, I re-cut my own vinyl. There were quite a number of issues with...

RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF

The previously posted photo of the 50 cc version gave the CG as 5.00 - 6.25 inches from the leading edge. This would give 5.625 as the center of the CG and convert to 142.8mm. The 133mm thus seems...

RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF

Yes, I have some of the servos and the arms are indeed very nice. I was only asking for possible spares.

Thanks

RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF

Gerry,
Do any other "standard" servo arms fit your servos? I've tried Hitec and Futaba which don't seem to fit. Just wondering about other alternatives but would like to know which ones to buy.

Gerry,
Can you please post the CG and recommended control throws for the 30cc Gee Bee too, these are not included in the "instructions".

I got excited about the new Gee Bee R3 at Toledo and...
